To remove or not to remove
I am wondering how many fellow TCVR members remove the old tap off your plate when the new tap is put on. I have a friend that said I really need to do that it looks better.
So how many of you remove the old one?

I choose NOT to remove the old license tab. I assure the first license tab is placed level and square, as well as each tab afterwards.
Motorcycle plates are not replaced every 7 years like car/vehicle plates, thus the stack of license tabs on #434 is raised out quite far from its original plate. (if there is too much overlap of the "next year's" new tab, I trim that new tab's overlap with a razor blade to match the "tab stack") I think the "license plate tab stack" can speak to the history of a motorcycle that continues to be ridden and adored by its owner.

Every few years I will remove the stack of tabs from the plate. I do it more on the truck than on the bike, but that stack of tabs is fairly easy for someone to peel off which makes it easier for your current tab to get stolen.

I wait until the great state of MN determines that my old license plate can no longer be used. I think its based off the depth/height of the stacked tabs I have on my bike....

most years I am just happy that I remembered to put the new tab on. I don't need to complicate the process by removing the old one

I voted "do not remove" since I don't usually do it. But I'm going to remove my whole stack this year. I really messed up the '19 one and the '20 is worse.

As the friend that suggested it, you know how I voted!
Personally, I have frames on the plates of all my bikes and stacking them creates a fitment issue. |

I scrape them every couple of years

Lighter is faster, I scrape them off every few years. My secret speed trick is out of the bag now.

The added weight of all the tabs stacked up strategically over the back side of the rear tire and shaded to the pulley side gives the faster red bikes the extra traction needed to put all their extra power to the ground... ZOOM!

I leave them until I remove some.
As for looks? I can't see it when I'm riding. I may have stuck one or two upside down over the years.

This year's tabs are yellow, so you just need to peel back to a yellow one Paul.
