Polaris Buys WSI Manufacturing
Seems like a good move - better pricing, quality control, and prioritization.
I have heard from some on the inside, it was hard to find high quality machining suppliers to meet the quality specs, at affordable prices due to smaller volumes that Polaris has. (especially domestically - also due to other competing larger businesses and their contracts - ie..car manufactures, HD, ect...) When I questioned the "low volume"; despite Polaris being 5 billion dollar company - the response was: not all of the 5 Billion are cases/engine components... https://www.bizjournals.com/twinciti...ndustries.html

WSI's sales have been declining recently and they've replaced their CEO to try to turn things around. So Polaris may have bought them to ensure that they have a stable source of supply instead of risking that WSI goes out of business, or gets acquired by someone else that doesn't want to work as well with Polaris. Hopefully it works out for everyone.
