100 to 106 swap?

Does anyone know if you can swap the 100 out for a 106 in an '09 steel frame?

Yes, it can and has been done many times.

I don't know the specific details, it does involve a crank swap (from 100 to the 106)

If you are talking about swapping an entire engine, not just the crank, that can be done as well.

I know Rylan has done more than a few. I believe it's mostly some wiring concerns (closed loop EFI, etc.). There may be some other details that I am unaware of though.

If you're thinking about doing this, give Rylan a call. He is very helpful when it comes to this sort of thing.

I've heard of it being done, but... Why? The 100 is a great engine!

Most people who are swapping engines are upgrading their 99-2001 Hammer motors for a Freedom engine. There's a definite improvement there.

If you're thinking of making K's Vegas into a hotrod, you can definitely build the 100". I think Gregor's Hanger 12 LSR Salt bike engine started life as a 100". I'm pretty sure Roland Sand's was also a 100".

yeah, put a big bore in and you can have lots of fun with a 100". add a stroker for more $$ and you will have an unbeatable beast. this is what a 107 big bore will do for you.

If the bike is still in Minnesota and you are looking to make it more of a hot rod, there is a guy in North Branch that can do some pretty interesting things without changing the bore or stroke.

You could put in high compression pistons, do some head and throttle body work and turn it in to a stealth 100" screamer as well.

Thumper -

LOL, No Dave has not.

I keep thinking... the price these things are going for now, it makes more sense to me to just keep the vegas and make it a bar hopper. I just HATE the front rim.

This whole conversation Started because I saw a complete 107 on ebay for $1500. I thought that was a good price, is it?

A 107", so a bored and stroked 100"? Or a complete 106"

Either way, $1,500 is a good price.
