Warped rotor?

Anyone have a warped rotor on their XC? I never had brake problems on my Yamaha so this is concerning for a newer bike.

Under light low speed braking my brakes are pulsing. Possible warped rotor? If so then this might be a good time to look at the Ness big brake kit.

Hi Kevin - is it front or rear? Is it just with the lever which is front only, as I think the pedal is linked front and rear?

I had a rear rotor warp on the 99 - a used one was the fix.

have understood that a heavy dose of brake cleaner and some tapping with a rubber mallet, NOT ON THE FACE of the rotor, but rather on the edge (ie from the rear of the bike) can shake some of the build up on the floating buttons has been effective.

Front and rear are NOT linked on the cross bikes but ARE linked on the Vision.

Do the Cross bikes have dual brakes?

Lift front wheel; remove one caliper by removing bolts, spin and see.
Other side - repeat.

Almost 16k on my 2014 XCT. That includes *some* pretty hard twisty riding. No sign of rotor warping. I *did* have a front brake pressure issue when I first got the bike that was resolved under warranty.

Do you have the ABS on your bike?

If it doesn't pulse under heavy breaking it is most likely just dirty.

That is one fo the many reasons why Visions are better than cross bikes.

Especially the red...I mean Blue ones.

I do have ABS. But we are talking light braking while coming up to a stop sign.

Lots of heavy braking over the almost 50k on big red and no warping. Having said that, I use a wheel brush every time I was the bike and do a very thorough job cleaning the rotors and all of the calipers. Never had an issue and keeps the dust build up to a minimum.

Since they are 4 pot calipers, there aren't any sliders to clean and grease, so taking them off and blowing them out with compressed air might be good for them as well.

Ugh. This will have to wait until spring. Something came up with my car and I will want that working well before winter!
