Squealing Noise

If you hear it turn down the radio down and do some inspecting. A guy on FB heard a noise and started looking for what it might be. Yup bad wheel bearing

Is that a front axle? What bike?

Holy buckets! I am shocked he didn't have severe wheel wobble with a failure like that. My gosh - half of his axle is has been worn through!

That would equate to..what...approximately an inch (?) of play once you account for the missing ball bearings that surely were gone.

That's pretty bad. I wonder if the person bought the bike with a bad bearing and didn't know any better until it go really bad? If they've had it since new, I would have a hard time believing that they wouldn't have noticed something a little earlier...
