I really hate to miss this great fundraising event - but I have family obligations in conjunction to the religious holiday...

How was the Flood Run this year? Haven't heard much about it but the weather was about as perfect as you could ask for!

Had been out with the Vision earlier in the week no problem. Backed it out and was dressed to ride and the bike will not even light the gauges. Tried the Battery Tender in the trunk and said it was not connected right. Went direct to battery and it showed charging. Gauges came on but by then I had no trust so backed the Slingshot out and pushed the bike in and put the charger on. Ran into town and had to wash the Sling. Then off to Prescott.

Like you all said the weather could not be more perfect for the day. Rode down 35 to the bridge to Winona. Touring Prescott, Diamond Bluff and stopping in Nelson for ice cream. Pickup up some red and blue lights behind me leaving the Cheese Factory for burning it leaving. Everyone on was having a good laugh. Got off with a verbal warning from the deputy. Stopped up at Buena Vista where two groups of bikers came up asking how I made out and wondering what they could tag that with as I was not going over 20mph. But glad I did not have to find out.

On way back found not as many bikes at Buck's Bar. Was able to ride up and over the hill. Everywhere else was more bikes than past years. Stopped at Reed's landing to eat and headed for home.

Great day except for the battery. After I got home the tender was quite warm and the battery was not even 80% charged. But was charged enough to start the bike. Replacing

When I was in the market for a new battery for the Vision last year, the best warranty I could find was @ Batteries plus on an Energizer battery - 2 years. It also had the best CCA's (in that size) as well.
And - changing the battery in the Vision is FUN (sarc) as well...

Not as bad as changing a bulb in the headlight.

From the looks of it, there were a lot of bikes out. I went opposite flow, so with the notable exception of traffic in Nelson, Maiden Rock, and a little in Prescott, the south to north route was good.

Welch Village Rd. was in great condition - not even a grain of sand. The back way through Cannon, Red Wing and Lake City were also pretty good. A few areas of mud and dirt on the road from the Farmers out doing their thing, but overall they were in great shape.

Hwy. 60 is in need of some help. While the road was clean, there are a lot of areas that need to be completely re-surfaced. Luckily, the majority of them were in the straight-aways, but lots of bumps and potholes.

Overall, I had a great 300 mile day. Pretty sure I saw Sparkles on the Sling-A-Ling but there were surprisingly many of them out that day. Although I think it was the only Red one I saw.

I can't be sure if it was him, since the driver was wearing a floppy hat and not a helmet. And we all KNOW that Sparkles doesn't go on a motorcycle without his helmet. Oh wait, check that. It was him. He wasn't on his motorcycle...
