Grand Rounds 2020 - 10-18-2020

Well, our fearless leader will not be able to lead the Grand Rounds ride this year, but we need to keep this tradition going. So I'm planning to ride the Grand Rounds route next Sunday, October 18th.

Not sure if we'll do the exact route of previous years. I may even throw a 2020 twist into the thing and do the route in the opposite direction so you can all see things from a different point of view. But we'll figure that out as we get closer to next week.

The long range weather forecast looks promising, so lets hope that it's a dry day.

Plan on meeting at the Flagpole on Victory Memorial Drive at 11:30 with KSU for Noon. Of course, this might change a bit if people want to meet later, but let's shoot for a noon start. If anyone has a camera and tripod that we can use to take a picture, please let me know. Otherwise we may have the weirdest selfie in TCVR history.

Due to social distancing needs I'm hoping to keep this group a little smaller than some previous years so I'm not posting it all over the place, but I'd also like to see a lot of you folks so try to come if you can. If it's a big parade we'll make it work as best as we can.

Open to suggestions for places to eat after the ride. May see if Stanley's can accomodate us like they did last year, but we have to see what the new limitations allow.

Anyway, let's do this thing.

You're going to skip it to watch the Vikings lose to the Falcons? Oh the humanity!

When I first chose the date for this ride the weather reports were showing temps in the mid 50s. Now it's going to be much colder, with low 40s as the predicted high. Who is planning to come on Sunday?

I would like to, but can't.

We're still on for today's ride. Meet at around 11:30, KSU at noon.

Planning to eat after the ride at about 3:30 - Stanley's Barroom in Northeast Minneapolis. Bring a mask because they enforce the rules.

Seven bikes, with 8 people braved the cold and did the Grand Rounds this year. The high today was about 36 degrees, so it may be the coldest Grand Rounds that we've ever done.
