Factory Made on Discovery Channel

The always entertaining Discovery Channel has discovered Victory Motorcycles. A crew from the newest series called: “Factory Made” spent several days on the production line in Spirit Lake, Iowa. They were given unprecedented access to the line and followed the production of a 2008 Victory Vision Tour. The show went deeper that a typical factory tour, and watching the birth of the hottest American touring motorcycles on the market will be both entertaining and educational - hallmarks on the cable network that features several shows about adventure, machines, engineering and travel. The air date for the premier of the Victory Motorcycles segment is set for June 6th at 10:30 pm EST. Confirm the airdate and the replays of the show by logging on to: http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/daily.html where you can also register for email reminders of the upcoming shows. Note that the week following is the show about the Polaris product line.

I see the show listed for that date, but no details telling which show is on. Also there is a show to air about the Ranger on 18 June. BTW, Sparky, you should know me better than that, composition wasn't my strong suit (in any of the schools I went to)--LOL.I was asked to pass this on to my interested friends.

How It's Made segment..

It was only about a 10-minute segment about the assembly operations of the Vision, but thought it was pretty interesting. I'd like to tour the plant when the Visions are being assembled on the line to see it first-hand. The final testing procedure was especially interesting.. any bike failing the final testing was sent back through again.. Seemed as though the employees liked their jobs a lot which was quite refreshing.

When we toured last year, we saw that the line was very flexible (probably filling orders for specific models and features), because there were all different models going through the line intermixed, including Visions. They probably build them out as needed to go on the truck to next be loaded.
