Arctic Cat sold

Artic Cat announced today that it is being acquired by Textron, the company that owns EZ-Go, Cushman, Bad-Boy Off Road, Bell Helicopter, and several other brands.

Could be interesting to see what Arctic Cat can do with some money behind them.

Didn't Textron buy out Polaris back in the 70's and then the employees bought it back?

1968: Textron acquires Polaris.

1981: Management buys out the company after a couple of brown winters dry up sales.

Since Edgar Hetteen started Polaris and then they sold to Textron down the line, it is only right that the other company he started, Arctic Cat is also bought out by Textron!

It'll be interesting to see if it has any impact on the swanky new building they just moved in to for their HQ? It's about 3 blocks from my place and has a static display of their products on the ground floor.

Arctic Cat. They moved in about 6 months ago. They are one block south of Cuzzy's if you know that place. If not, they're about 2 blocks west of Deja Vu.

Seems to be good news, judging by the securities market's response.
ACAT shares jumped about 30% when the deal was announced. This was after 3 months of declines.
Textron shares have been climbing for the last 3 months about 18%

Should we start some rumors that ACAT/Textron will be buying Victory Motorcycles and hiring Mark Blackwell back to run the operations? Bwahahaha

Naw, they bought Vincent and are going to have Blackwell run it, with Eric Buell in charge of development.
