The Vic Shop Open House 5/10

I just got off the phone with Rylan and he reminded me of his open house, so I thought I would post up here in case others were interested in joining.

The Vic Shop is having its annual Open House/Hog Roast on Saturday, May 10th. It goes on all day, but the food is ready at noon.

I will be heading down if the weather looks mostly promising (I still remember last year and the 50 MPH winds). General idea will be leaving somewhere south of the cities, maybe the Kwik Trip in Lakeville at 7am. Arrival at The Vic Shop will be around 11 or so, then folks can grub up and check out the newly expanded shop.

Last year there were a few different groups that left for the ride home at different times, and that seemed to work well.

If you have never been to Rylan's shop, it's a fun day, and he is a great guy to get to know. The ride itself is one of the most boring you will ever go on, but in this case, the destination is the purpose, not the ride.

Post up if you are interested and I will finalize ride details as time gets closer.

BTW, since this is his open house, he doesn't perform any services that day (just in case some were wondering).

The Vic Shop is in Adel, IA. It's about a 4 hour ride. Mostly super-slab.

How about going down on Hwy 169? Would that be a little more entertaining?

It might be more entertaining, but would also add about an hour to the trip.

You know John Wayne was born twenty miles south of where the Vic shop is in Winterset on the same road you take to Rylan's shop

Geez Ted, if it's snowing, wouldn't you just bust out the KTM???

Love to have you on the trip.

Looking Ok so far for Chris and I, hopefully the TC will be ready. Have to be back for fellow dirt-rider Charlie's benefit at Turtles in Shakopee by 7pm, all welcome. Lost an eye to cancer a year ago, now battling liver cancer.

Problems to complain about... none

OK folks, the time is getting closer and the weather is looking fairly decent at this point, so here is the plan:

Meet at the Kwik Trip at Co. 46 and 35 in Lakeville

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kw...4cfeb85ee6229b

KSU (Kick Stands Up) will be at 7AM sharp so please be gassed and ready to go by then. We will likely make the first stop across the boarder in Iowa, which is about 100 or so miles from the KT and then another stop between Ames and Des Moines. There are plenty of places to stop along the way, so gas will not be an issue (unless you had spicy or disagreeable food Friday night!).

I will probably make a final stop about 10 miles from The Vic Shop to allow people to get some beverages, since those usually go pretty fast.

Here is who I have going as of now:
Me
Paul (Schamby)
Mark (Mark 2112)
Kyle - Maybe
Ted (c-zulu) - Maybe
Bird-n-Boots - Maybe

Let me know before Friday if you are planning in going so I can keep an eye out for you at the KT.
