1st Ever 2nd Annual Steel Frame Ride - 9/23/17

With the fall calendar filling up with rides, trips, etc., I thought I would pick a date for a ride that had a great turnout last year!

On 8/26 we will have the 2nd annual Steel Frame Ride! Some details:

KSU from Bison Thunder at 10AM. We will be wiggling our way up to the Mille Lacs area for lunch and a lap of the lake.

Lunch will either be at Grand Casino for the buffet, or at Nitti's Hunter Point Resort, depending on the number of people that plan on going. The resort is great and has a great view of the lake, but has limited seating (probably 10 for a group). Even if we don't stop there for lunch it is on the opposite side of the lake from the casino so we can stop there for a beverage and view stop after lunch.

While this is a "Steel Frame" ride, everyone is welcome to go, I just want to give an opportunity and encouragement for those that own one of the older designs to get them out for a nice 200 mile run.

Lunch decision will be determined by responses to this thread (I am not posting it on FB) and a count determined the end of the day on 8/19. If all day rain is in the forecast, I reserve the right to delay it for another weekend, or potentially the next day.

So post up your intentions and let's get those old girls out for exercise!

I could be up for that. Might be nice to see some of the "old girls" on the road.

I don't think I will be able to make this. I'm pretty sure my brother will be in town that day and if not I will be at the state fair for State Fair Bingo and beer drinking at Ball Park Cafe. can't mess with traditions after all

Might be a good excuse to borrow the Vegas for the day. Sounds like fun.

Just an FYI that Bison Thunder has an event that weekend. They're hosting the Better Together: USA Women's Motorcycle Conference & Road Rally. The parking lot is big and should be able to accommodate a lot of bikes, but I'm not sure how many there will be.

This could be a good thing! Most (or all) riders will be women! And hey! You might want to end your ride there too... the evening schedule says "entertainment" but not sure what or who. When I chatted with them about this a while back they had mentioned Kat Perkins and Shannon Curfman, but since then they've scaled it back quite a bit and not sure if either of them is still in the mix.

I'll be out in the area that weekend, so maybe I'll see you guys. I'm one of the rallymasters of the Team Lyle rally starting out of Moon Motors that morning. And then I'm headed over to Bison Thunder to sit on their speaker panel for part of the event. It will be interesting to see how this goes. Bison Thunder would like to be a trusted dealer for women riders. Come buy a bike from us and we'll take care of you kind of thing, I think.

Hey All -

I have been a bit behind on updating this thread. I realize there is a LOT going on this day, and as of now, the weather is looking pretty grim.

Having said that, here are the folks that have expressed interest:

1) - Me
2) - Wayne
3) - Greg
4) - Brian
5) - Kyle
6) - Kurt

Post up here if you are interested. As I said before, if the forecast continues to hold and it's looking like rain (and right now it's at 80%) this ride will be rescheduled for another date.

Well, it's still 4 days away and we all know how accurate the weather people are. Just hope that they are at their usual accuracy.

I want to be the first to tell Joe he is all wet. Looks like rain so I am going to bail. I hope Joe is able to come up with another date.

Roxanne really likes this ride.
