Where have you been this year? And rate it.

We all like riding somewhere cool. Where have you ridden this year that was worth the ride? I know Thumpers and Marc Cox went way west but don't know much for details. etc, etc.

I'll start. Perrault, F'in Dave Freese, and I just got back from Glacier Nat'l Park, Yaak River Road in NW Montana/ID, Lolo Pass, Red Lodge, Beartooth Pass, Chief Joseph scenic highway. The Red Lodge area and Beartooth Pass are overall the most beautiful mountain scenery area I've run across yet. North of Red Lodge we rode 23 miles up a dead end state hwy 419 through Fishtail and Nye to a nat'l forest campground. It looks like the Swiss Alps up in there, awesome. Got close to the Lolo Mtn fire on Lolo Pass road, that was an interesting experience. The Yaak River road is paved but the pavement is not great, it is very remote and there is a 40 mile stretch where you feel like you are lost somewhere unknown in the mountains, no people. Good times.

Glacier A++

Great Falls, MT B++ some rather nice roads around there

Lolo Pass A Idaho section of the road was not in good condition, it wasnt horrible

Sturgis A+

Black Hills A++ much better riding when its not Sturgis. (Make sure you have tread left on your tires before departing for the Black Hills)

Thumper and I (with others along the way) did a 7500 mile trip this summer. My highlights were: Avenue of the Giants in No. Cali. Crater Lake, OR and we really need to do Banff/Lake Louise again. The smoke from fires prevented us from really seeing it.

I rode to Southern IL to meet a couple of friends from back in OH. To me the highlights of the trip were Cave in Rock state park and a Dungeons and Dragons themed park. There are definitely some decent riding roads in that part of the country as well. I'd give them both 4+ stars.

Rode down to Savanna, Ill. again this year. Always hit up the Iron Horse Social Club and Poopy's when we go.

Great ride down and back, beautiful riding around the area, music , and great food places! (sorry John, didn't hit up and bbq places )

This year I'd give it a 5 out of 5.

John Day Fossil Beds,OR. Hells Canyon,OR. Lowman,Stanley and Challis,ID via Highway 21 & 75

Some nice twisty's...

Tiller State Highway (between Crater Lake and interstate-5) almost biffed it on that twisty strip of tarmac. Little traffic, remote, mostly good pavement.

I thought the back roads to Hayward from Chippewa Falls were sweet. Hwy 40 to Cty O, Cty F, Cty E, Cty K, and into Hayward on Cty B. Hwy 88 never disappoints on two trips to Winona. Only dream of those long road trips for the moment. Went from empty nesting to guardian of 15yr old niece. Hard to ride 3 up.

Had my first ambulance ride this year.
Not bad but definitely worth missing.

And it ended about the same as Evel's Snake river jump.

I did a loop to the U.P. MI.
Then down the east side of the L.P. of MI, cut across the middle to Luddington, and up the west side of the L.P. including the tunnel of trees.
Then across 2 on the bottom side of the U.P to Ironwood.

Lots of rain, capped off with Ice on the bike when waking up in Ironwood.

Sun finally came out when leaving Ironwood for the looping ride back home.
