Wheels To Meals If you know a good place to ride to for a good meal (a day ride only), start a new thread with the name of the place. In the first post tell us where the place is and what you liked. A picture of the menu would be a nice addition or web site.

Victory Gas Station in Sandstone - Fridays at lunch

There is a retired black guy with a mini-van who pulls his smoker over to the parking lot of the Victory gas station on the Southeast corner of the I-35 and MN 23.

Honestly, these are the best friggin' ribs I have had in the state of Minnesota. They are among some of the best ribs I have ever had, period. Basically, you get them to go. No sides, no sauces, just ribs. Meaty, fall-apart, lightly-seasoned, and heavily smoked. There was a ton of pork on the bones Laurie and I had.

I've been to this gas station, probably close to 100 times. Last Friday at 11:30 was the first time our paths ever crossed. He is only there in the "summer", and only on Fridays around lunchtime. Unless, it looks like rain, then he shows up on Saturday. When he sells out, he's gone. If you can catch him, it's worth it.

No. "Old, black man in a minivan towing a smoker" is all I have. Maybe MamaT could tell you the color of the minivan. It would be a heckuva surprise if there were 2 old, black guys in minivans towing smokers in the Sandstone Victory station serving lunch on Friday, though...

I don't think he needs the business. Although he's probably only about 60 or so; he probably doesn't have a website, face book page, or twitter account, either. He didn't strike me as the type who would be on social media or even marketing his wares. I think the aroma does that for him.

Here's the FB page for the gas station. Though, I don't think that's their website, at least it has a phone number.

Does he live in a van down by the river.

Maybe if someone were to talk to him, we could organize a ride to him on a weekend somewhere.

I've been asked a couple times. So, when we were in Sandstone, we asked...

The RibMan started up last Friday. So, ride on up there some Friday and enjoy!
