Sparky_Bill called the other night asking where I've been. I haven't been around, and truthfully that's because after the whole VMC Local Chapter Issue, I became so disgruntled that I needed some time away. It very likely wasn't the RIGHT reaction, but it was my reaction, so that is that. I was so upset at one point that I actually considered selling the Vic and just going without a bike. I'm glad I cooled down.

I didn't quite hit 52K on the bike before the last ride of the season. My bike still isn't quite in storage, because I'm helping a buddy bring his bike to Albert Lea tomorrow. When I put everything into storage, the motorcycle trailer actually becomes a storage platform of various things (lawnmower, leaf blower, pedal bike), and the Vic gets stored behind that. Until I can put things on the trailer, I don't have room for the bike.

By the way...I carted away 45 (!) 30gal bags of leaves this fall. Sometimes it is ROTTEN to have a big yard in the suburbs.

I've also been very, very busy. Although my dissertation hasn't made much progress in the past two months, my choirs have had one major concert (performing Fauré's Reqiuem and Vivaldi's Magnificat), our high school put on "Once Upon a Mattress" as a fall musical, and I've had a lead role in a local production of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" as King Kaspar. When I get the DVD, I'll burn down my solo scene to an AVI and post it for any who care.

The last show is tomorrow evening at 8pm. If anyone is free, you can find out more about the production at http://www.woodburycommunitytheatre.org

My choirs will actually perform their holiday concert in January, but my caroling group has several gigs over the next 2 weeks. And we have a lovely, long winter break ahead. I'm thrilled.

I've also been spending time with new technology. I bought a new Pocket PC, which has really become my primary use computer all day long (Dell Axim X30), and I also bought a new desktop system at the end of the last financial quarter. Dell had some unbelieveable 24 hour deals and I purchased a system which would sell for $1800 to $2400 at Best Buy for only $1200. It was a steal. Let me tell you...3.2 GHz works SO much better than 400 MHz!

So, with all that...I apologize for having to leave for a while, but it's something that I had to do. It was time away that was much needed.

Well, good to hear you again down here in Kenosha anyways. Dont know much about the VMC issue which is probably best that I dont. In either case in my opinion Vic riders enjoy fellowship but get uncomfortable riding with the pack at any great length of time. We often ride alone! Remember to always enjoy the ride, the wind, solitude and remember why you bought the bike in the first place! On a lighter note I think it is pretty cool that you are choir director. Irronically some of my best memories in High School was when I was part of the North Branch High School choir in Minnesota. This was many years ago (81). Funny I cant sing a steady note now, but certainly have a better appreciation for choral music. It is also my opinion that those young chaps learn more than music. They are learning a few of the greater things of life itself. Time is short. Later. (Wife telling me to get off the computer). :D
