I am looking for chaps that will fit me and all the sizes listed are M-L-XL-XXL but that doesn't tell me much... I think I would probably take an L but don't know..

I am 6'3" 190-195# and wear a 36w 34inseam..

I am worried about getting something that would be too tight but don't want baggy chaps either..

Any pointers?

Thumper,

Don't know if this will be much help, but I just got a pair this year so I'll tell you what I know. I'm 6'-4" about 250 and I got the XXL. They're laced in the back which gives me a little bit that I can take up or let out. I have about a 38-40 waist so this one looks to go anywhere from 34 to 44" or so. My inseam is about 35-36" but here again, if they are unlined they can be cut to length as the bottoms are unfinished. Being leather you can expect some stretch so slightly snug will probably become more comfortable without being baggy. I had a hard time getting the sides zipped up the first time but a couple of rides later I like the fit. I got mine at the Hitching Post for about $110. Hope this give you a little bit better idea. I'm thinking the XL might be the way to go. Good luck.

You can also take your chaps in and have the bottoms stiched for a "professional" look...any leather repair/shoe place can do it.

I'd say try a Large first...order from a place that will let you try them on...or stop up at Dennis Kirk and try some.

The chaps go more by the size of your thighs than waist size I believe. I have pretty skinny legs and ended up with a size small. The main thing will be to find a brand that is cut long enough for your legs. Worth the trip to Rush City like Chris said, they have nice chaps and pretty hard to beat their price.
