Stopped into Bristows today on my way to the doc to see if they maybe had a KP on the floor. Well, they had a blue one(not a flattering color for the KP, BTW) and a Ness Vegas sitting on the floor. That Vegas is absolutely awe inspiring...I think I still have wood! The way the paint glistens on the showroom floor, I could only imagine seeing it in the sunlight!

The KP, however, left me a bit bummed. To me, it looks fantastic from the front end 'till you get to the rear tire(comfortable seating position too), but that big fender with the low profile tire just looked to wierd IMO. I kept trying to imagine it with big bags to hide the fender, but that low profile tire would still be visible enough to throw off the whole look of the rest of the bike. Maybe a guy could mount a normal tire on a smaller rim to help fill the gap, I don't know...sure would like to be able to understand why they went with that tire.

Other than the Vegas, I'm sure glad I have my old, rock chipped '99 sitting out in the shed patiently waiting for me to get reaquainted with it come spring time:) . It's hard to beat the "bulky/tough" look of the C's & TC's, but if the rear-end of that KP would change "just" a bit, it may give some competition to those two styles of Vics....maybe next year;)

Swiffer,

Come on! If the Kingpin was a Yugo, wouldn't you buy it?

What happened to brand loyalty?

Nah, I'm just zinging you [That may be a waste of disk space and unlike the TCVR, but I had to do it].

I think the Kingpin is a bike that really grows on you over time, and the more I see it, especially with the windshield and small but functional bags, I like it more and more and could see it as a potential replacement for my Electra-Glide C.

Warner's has a nice tan one on the floor.

How about the Ness? Is theirs sold? Warner's has sold both of theirs.

I think the Kingpin is one of those bikes where you either love it or hate it. I agree that the more you see it the more it grows on you. the one thing I don't care for though is the plate mount. It's not like you can even change it very easy because of the way it is rivited to the fender. It just kind of sticks up like a sore thumb

Their Vegas isn't sold yet...only one their getting too. I was thinking maybe the black/bronze or the bronze/cream might look better than the blue one. I have to get back down to Warners and see it one of these days.

I was in Warners on Tuesday to get some oil (I know it sounds a little early for an oil change but Sarah and I are going to Daytona and the bike needs the change ) and they have a Kingpin in the black/bronze with the windshield and bags. Talk about sweet. I didn't want to get off of it. W O W. What a machine. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I was looking for a new bike, but alas I will have to ride the 01 a little longer. Mama gets a new car first...

hey I saw that kingpin at warners, my bride said (DON'T you dare sit on it) Guess she wants her vegas before I get to trade my kyso delux(L) But you know I still like the look of that 01 over the new ones,I think it might have something to do with the fact it has a unique look nothing else looks like it,ah who knows just babblin here, hurry up spring!
