Check out www.fullthrottleusa.com for a short, superficial, but positive review of the Kingpin. Click on the state of Minnesota to access the review. (Actually, you can probably click on any state.)
There is also am article on the future of Indian.
This seems like a decent website for motorcycling in general with lots of links to other sites and the obligatory scantily clad women.

Rufus, thanks for the tip on this site, enjoyed reading the review. Rider also has a positive review this month on the kingpin and a nice review on the long term road test of the TC.

The February issue of Cycle World has a "quick ride" review of the Kingpin. It was very positive. It also features a Honda VTX powered cafe racer done by Jesse James. It is awesome!A far cry from his usual choppers. :) Gooseman Dave

Did anyone else notice that Victory didn't advertise in this month of Rider, which as previously mentioned my Framy Jim, does feature a very positive article on the Kingpin?
Whoops.

:gunrev: finally saw the kingpin up close and personal and i have to say i like the seat position and the gas tank, the leather covered hard bags are to small to be of much use.but it could very easily be the chassis for a full bagger( hint ,hint)

For all intents and purposes, we've been lead to believe that a full bagger is going to have a different engine configuration than the V-Twin. My personal feeling is that Victory needs to stick with a V-configuration of some sort (v4, v6) to keep true to their name ("V" for Victory).
I don't think we'll see it for 2005, which is fine for me, because I can't afford another bike right now. My guess is that 2006 will be the big year.
I also think it is time to watch the other manufacturers, such as H-D and Kawasaki. Harley's got that engine in the V-Rod that is just screaming for use in a large tourer; and Kawasaki took the Voyager XII out of its line-up for 2004, while now producing a 2000cc engine that could also find good use in a large tourer.
As for the Kingpin, I think they've got the right idea, but I also think they should offer 3 different fender combinations for the bike:
a) The mid-skirts they offer now
b) A full skirt, now that Indian is out of business
c) A fender that looks like a fat boy/old V92C
Let the consumer buy the fender that appeals to him/her.
The Kingpin is growing on me, no doubt about it.

:gunrev: there's another option for the aftermarket manufacturers(different fenders for the kingpin). I hadn't heard of the engine configuration changing, but they should look at the reliability of their existing engine before they go changing, which i think is pretty good. The president of polaris was out here at canterbury and i wanted to bend his ear about a bagger but he had a posse of hangers on around him and i gave up waiting. Those HUGE pipes on the side of the kingpin really prevent a decent set of bags from going on.Need to switch to a crossover to make more room, crap bagger dreaming again:D

Tuba, I agree with you, the King Pin is growing on me as well. If I were buying a Victory today, it would be a loaded King Pin. I also think, as long as they are doing a "custom order program," they should have at least two fender treatments for the Pin, what's stock now, and a "standard" set, which is what I'd buy.
