I'm considering an upgrade for the '07 Kingpin taillight. Stock is single-LED and apparently it runs on 9V supply. Apparently Victory went to a 12V multi-LED tailight in 2008 for Kingpin. So it sounds like I would need the multi-LED taillight plus a voltage conversion module to make it work. Has anyone here done this? Or can anyone comment on how much of an improvement the multi-LED taillight is? I should have paid attention to newer Kingpin taillights when I had the chance.

I converted my 2004 to the new tail light, and it is a huge improvement over the stock light. Well worth the money, IMO. However, the new tail lights are a direct replacement for the 2004 bikes; they are a plug and play mod.
For your bike, you will need a convertor, which will add a little to the cost. I'm not sure what's all involved with that swap, but I believe that it's fairly simple.
