My oil drain plug is leaking. Can I buy just the washer that goes on the drain plug at Motoprimo or some place? I know they sell the whole oil change kit but I don't need all of that stuff.

Warner's used to sell just the washer years ago. Try backing off and reseating.

You can buy just the crush washer at a dealer by it self. From what I hear you can get them at a auto parts store also.

I have a few spares I ran across this weekend. I have the little bags of washers that came with the oil change kits.

At the time I didn't know why I kept them, but it's hard throwing something away. And if you take them, then I'm vindicated in keeping so much junk around! :-D

If you're going to be up in Plymouth, let me know. I can also bring them to South Edina on Thursday (tomorrow).

Hey Thumper, thanks for the offer! I don't want to hassle you for something so minor. But maybe our paths will cross at Buffalo Tap next Wednesday and you could give me a couple crush washers then. I did back it off and retighten a while back but that did not stop it.

It is generally recommended to use a new crush washer with each oil change, but I've also heard of people "rejuvenating" them by heating it with a blowtorch before reinstalling it.

What would cost less the washer or torch?

Just slap a Harley badge on the bike and people will think that it's normal.

I'm going to change my oil soon also and wonder what size this washer is. I'd like to have one, get one from auto parts store which is much closer than Northway, and be ready to change my oil. What size squish washer do I need?:BeatsMe:
