I'm interested to hear what others do for their rear shock adjustment when you ride solo part of the time, and two-up on occasion as well. No, not any of you with the air-adjustable suspensions that the touring bikes have! I'm talking about the slightly more tedious process to adjust regular rear mono-shock suspensions.

I decided to forego the Victory method of measuring ride-height (set it for 4 3/4" ground clearance at the rear of the right side of the frame) in favor of what Progressive recommends, which is to set the loaded height to 2/3 of the total suspension travel. So you first measure from the axle to a fixed point on the bike (like the bottom of the fender) fully unloaded and off the ground (e.g. on a jack). Then put the bike down and load it up (i.e. sit on it and have someone else measure). Since the Jackpot has a total rear suspension travel of 3", I'd want the loaded measurement to be 1" less than the first measurement.

So the dilemma is where to set it for combined two-up and solo riding.

Where I ended up was to have it set to .8125" (13/16") sag for solo, and 1.375" (1 3/8") two-up. A little stiffer for solo (but not a lot), and a little soft for two-up.

I just don't feel like going through the whole adjustment process every time I go from solo to two-up.

Thoughts? Opinions (like maybe "stop worring and just ride!")?
