Pulled off my factory mufflers tonight in prep to put on some RPWs tomorrow. Question I have is what's the trick to removing the factory heat shield from the stock muffler? Looks like it's a band clamp with a crimp connection holding them onto the muffler. Is the clamp compromised after prying them open from the stock muffler? Thanks everyone in advance.

Sounds like they are identical to the vision shields.
I cut them off with a Dermal tool cut off wheel, and replaced them with appropiate sized hose clamps.

Cover any chrome in the aea for protection from wayward twitches.

Thanks Lee, I'll do just that.

Hose clamps are what they provide for some of their other aftermarket pipe sets, so it makes perfect sense.
