Our Vic is up and running again!
Last weekend I tore into it and replaced the belt. It went a lot better than I anticipated. The only tough part was taking off the sprocket cover without removing the header pipe.
The first test ride revealed that the belt was too tight and back I went to trying to get it correct and keeping alignment somewhat straight.
After a longer run the belt seemed to loosen up some. Not having the Victory belt tension tool, I used a 14mm open end wrench as a "deflection gauge". I'll probably have to tweak it again before using it.
One thing I noticed is that the belt will tighten and loosen as you rotate the wheel, so at best you have to compromise on the tension adjustment.
Anyone else notice that phenomena?
