Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Kyle and I just recently purchased a new Cross Roads Custom from Dean Cross at Motoprimo. This is the first bike I have ever owned and I am loving it! I always wanted a "fat boy" but my friend Chris kept insisting that I look at the Victory "kingpin". So this year my wife finally caved and I gave the Kingpin a look but after I seen the cross roads.....well lets just say Dean didn't have to do much selling :)

I look forward to meeting/riding with everyone at some point. My schedule doesn't allow me as much time as I would like since I work weekends and have two kids that keep me busy on my off days! That said I can usually get out on weeknights or as I told my friend Dutch....I may have to call in sick :Hehe:

Welcome to the TCVR Mr. "SwampDonkey" Great alias! Wow the Victory is quite a pick for your first motorbike. Way to skip the rest and pick the best right away. Now you won't have to "upgrade" until you buy a second Victory!

I saw you said this is your first bike. Did you ever take a riders course or grow up on dirt bikes or anything?

Enjoy the Victory and keep the rubbers down! :riding: Nice bike.

Thanks King,

The "SwampDonkey" is something that came from poker...kind of a story but Rowe was involved in its creation :Laugh1: Rowe was also the one who pointed me in the direction to buying a Victory...I hate to give him credit on anything because it seems to inflate his ego! Honestly I always wanted a Harley and really was looking hard at the Fat Boy Lo and even though Chris is  he's worth taking advice from every once in a while:grit:

I did take the new riders course at Dakota County Tech and actually picked the bike up from Dean the last night when I passed. Kinda crazy how things work out sometimes. I also grew up on my good friends dirt bikes...his family had a lot of toys (snowmobiles, dirt bikes, go karts, jet ski's ect) so I was lucky to enjoy in a lot of fun stuff! Its been a long time since then though so......well lets just say I don't ride quite like Chris (yet) :Horror:

Thanks Al,

Yea I have trolled the boards while waiting for my account to get activated and it seems like a lot of great people here! Not sure about bringing any of the family with right now. My son if four and my daughter is one, plus it took about ten years to talk my wife into getting a bike.....it may take another ten years to get her to ride with me :BigLaugh:

Welcome to the group!

And don't be too worried about not riding like Chris. That's not necessarily a bad thing... :floor:

Swampdonkey - welcome to the Utpoia.

Your handle could have a few different definitions that I have heard over the years....some of which I recall hearing after good night(s) of partying - especially in college. Some...ahem..."friends"... mentioned waking up next to a "Swampdonkey" after said partying... usually followed up with another great story how they escaped as well.

Thanks for the welcome Killer!

Rowe is definitely a broken clock....its just the fact that when he is right those two times a day, you'll hear about it for the twelve hours until he's right again:lol:

Yea John....thats kind of how my name morphed from "Donkey" to "SwampDonkey".

See I play poker with Rowe and Dutch. We have had a pretty solid core group for a several years and that core I would say are pretty talented. Anyways my friend Mike called me a "Donkey" one night after I sucked out his pocket AA with my pocket 88's. It was not really a donkey move but it was how he seen it at the time! Later that year he went to Vegas and bought me a "donkey" t-shirt which I wear with pride....I don't mind laughing at myself. After this all went down Rowe found a good site in which to schedule our tournaments and the site lets you put in your own avatar. So Rowe being the good friend he is :sarcastic gave me the name "Donkey" by default. I then Googled donkey images and found a cartoon type image with a fish hanging out of its mouth! I figured perfect...if I'm the "Donkey" you guys are the fish I consume  Rowe being curious about everything and distracted by anything (reminds me so much like my 4 yr old son) had to find out what this image meant. After we both figured out the meaning of "SwampDonkey" we thought it was a much more appropriate name for me then even "Donkey" :D

DONKEY!! 'sup and welcome to the forum. Glad you finally joined our ranks. :) Chris didn't have to do too much selling though, that self-satisfied look he had after every ride kinda did it for him lol (either that or something else was going on the ride over......:SouthPark)

Can't wait for the superior loop ride later! Should be a blast... Hope you are getting your riding in in the meantime, can't let that beauty sit, like some other important things that don't get much use in your household (no jar is big enough for the bike) :BigLaugh:

Hey John,

I would imagine others are welcome...Rowe would most likely say "the more the merrier" :FoodDrink

As of right now our intentions are to head out August 3 and be back to the cities August 7th. Thats if none of us manage to get our kitchen passes revoked by then! Five of us are planning on going Rowe, Dutch, a couple of our mutual friends and me.

You can ask Rowebote more about it if you want specifics but he's not really a specifics kinda guy

Yep, the trip is open to any that are interested. Right now there are 5 of us going. Dutch, SD, myself +2 harleys. We are leaving on August 3rd and returning that Sunday Aug 7th. The tentative route is linked below. It looks right now that we will be staying in hotels. The stops will be in Thunder Bay, Michipicoten, Munising MI and Ironwood MI. Depending on Dutch's schedule and when he can leave on the 3rd we may end up needing to adjust it a little bit. If you're interested PM me or Dutch. I'll be out of town starting Saturday for a week so might not be able to get back to you right away. Should go without saying but you will need a passport for this trip and if you have a DUI, check about any issues getting into Canada. I've read some differing opinions on it but it would suck to get all the way up to the border and have to turn around.
