Went to a Harley dealer tonight

I went to Lakeville HD tonight looking for a new skullcap (since I lost my victory one on the road last night) and let me ask you this... How the hell do they sell anything? I waited around forever for a salesman to help me out and they never came. To be fair to them I was never thinking about buying a Harley but I was looking at bikes for a good 20 minutes and nobody even looked at me. If I ran my business like that I wouldnt last 2 months!

An interesting thing that I noticed was how cheap some of the HD bikes looked compared to my Vic. I think it's called a Duece that I was looking at. It looked like a Honda rebel sitting next to my SC. Now there isnt anything wrong with the Rebel for like $3k but the Duece I think is like 16k. Tiny little forks... a whimpy frame... and the same old Harley tank. Just not worth the money if you ask me.

Oh BTW dont buy the Victory leather skullcap... it doesnt stay on worth a hoot. I went to Leo's South and bought a cloth one for 10 bucks and it stays on even with this god awful wind we have had today. Oh yeah and they seemed more than happy to help me out... even for a $10 sale.

Blah more reasons I'm glad I didnt buy a Harley.:gun:

I hear ya! Mrhawkv92c and myself were in TCHD in Blaine one time just looking for half helmets. We were probably in there 10 minutes when a sales girl came over and told us we'd have to leave because it didn't look like we were going to buy anything and it was getting CLOSE to closing time(10-15 minutes away). I had NEVER experienced anything like this! I like HD's, but it just amazes me how the sheep flock to these dealers just to hang out on a saturday afternoon. Guys on Victory's like to get some miles under them and explore new roads, seems alot of the HD folks shine up their rides just to go park at the dealer and hang out all day...pretty amazing stuff.

I've been to the dealership in Duluth...and you had better not sit on a bike!
Far cry from Keith at Magnum taking the red Vegas off of his showroom floor ( against my protests that he leave it there for his open house) so I can take a test ride.

And by the way...Magnum has redecorated their showroom floor.
It's about 50% Victory now. I think that Dean and Keith are the two best dealers in the state when it comes to service, sales and enthusiasm for Victory.
