:gunrev: is that a crossover exhaust your taliking about ? i'm looking for a crossover set up myself. i believe it's the difference in length of the pipes that cause the loss in power, but diameter can be a factor too from what i've found.possible cure?different cam, dial in ignition.??? top 'em off with a set of fishtails and i'm styling...checkout easyriders of dallas web site sometime ,very pro-victory,the owner loves 'em.

Jerry, the pipes I put on do not have the cross over which from what I understand causes a slight drop in power over a pipe with a cross over. I'm lucky because I obtained one of Thumpers' BFS1B chips before he was forced to stop making them. This chip runs quite a bit richer than the Vic chip or the D&D, so that helps some. I have the 10.5/1 pistons with the #3 grind Andrews cams(PL440?) so the loss in power isn't that big of a deal, because it's still better than before the cams/pistons install. What I would really like to do is pull the #3 grind cams out and install the #2 grind cams instead. They give more juice in the mid-range, where the #3's give all up top. With the rev limiter set at 5500 rpm, the #3 cams are pretty much useless in the Victory's unfortunately.

:gunrev: is your 10.5/1 stock on a 99?i've got 8.5/1 on the 2001and with the vic chip( any info on whats working good out there with these chips)i want to go to a 1/4 cam and pipes but i'm trying to put together information on compatable configurations, like you wanting the #2andrews now, without going thru the expense. i did that with my harley, which led to some interesting and very loud(can you say 2 1/4 exhaust pipes) experiences.i'd really like to see some dyno reports, they've got to be out there somewhere.thanks for the info steve

8.5/1 were stock on the '99's too. If you're running the Victory "off-road" chip in your '01, you'll be much happier with the D&D chip(Dean usually has 'em in stock). The '01's are notorious for "popping" on decel once you go with lower restriction exhaust, and the D&D gets rid of it on 99% of the bikes. I would love to get my bike on a dyno this year, but finances are a bit tight. Maybe Lloyd will show up in Spirit Lake this year?? What are you running for pipes now?

:gunrev: i've got the stock pipes on right now thats coming off soon and what i really want is the road king style of pipes and i'm still looking for someone to make them but i know the length and diam. of exhaust pipes in general reduce power which i can't have because i like to ride fast. Tom would do a great job setting me up and thats probably where i'm going, for the chip and cam action, there are several good pipes out there for vics and i might settle for one of those as it gets warmer and i get itchy to ride.:gun:

Steve took care of it, thanks. I will again be getting on ever day. I have not had a computer at the new place for nearly 3 months. Back up and running again.
