After much thought and crunching numbers, looking to the future, etc. etc......we have decided to put #1061 up for sale.
I'm taking a bunch of photos of the old girl this weekend (no, not Bobbi ;) ), to use for the various ads.
This, I hope, will not be the end of the friendships that we've made inside the Victory circle...and we're not ruling out having another bike in the future....
If anyone is interested, here is what #1061 and the package consists of:
'99 KYSO V92c, serial #1061, 21,000 miles
Vic accessories: light bar, visors, '03 fender tip, studded front mud flap, tank strap, saddlebags (side irons, hoops), freeway bar, luggage rack, billet sprocket, lace wheels, whitewalls, slash cut pipes, sissy bar and custom MN insert, pass. floorboards, license plate surround, SC turn signal lenses w/ blue dots.
Non Vic accessories: Rifle windshield, Vintage Mustang seats.
Late last fall; new transmission and torque compensator installed ( no slop, or driveline lash anymore, can idle down in gear without the bucking and clunking, new gear ratios).
New improved Vic head gaskets, new tps sensor, air filter, plugs and oil change.
comes with original parts...script wheels w/ original Dunlops (6000 miles on tires), seats, pipes (still new in box), chip, turn signal lenses.
Also; factory shop manual, maintenance records, Victory correspondence, acc. instructions, catalogs & advertising.
Plus; bike cover, disc brake lock, battery tender.
New license tabs, battery replaced in 2001 as well as rear brake pads.
Strong running Vic with new improved street manners...always covered and garaged ( and maybe shined up once too often!).
We'll be offering the clothing( jackets, gloves, chaps, rainsuits, Vic T-bag etc. with a separate ad.
If anyone is interested---jbpatrow@msn.com
So there you have it....it will be a good deal for someone!
Jimbob
All Victory dealer updates completed (except fuel pump replacement--slated for spring), new speedo installed. Warranty in effect until June '03.

I am sorry to hear this. Just when we got you down into our riding area you have to bow out. Hope it helps and puts you on better financial footing. Best wishs to you and to others that are suffering in the economic times we are going though. There are many among us wondering what will be coming next.

Jim, I'm totally bummed out for you...but know what it's like to have to contemplate selling something you love to keep your head above water. Maybe you'll be able to pick up something used to ride? Like Bill says, finally down in this area...was looking forward to riding with you and Bobbi this summer. Well, I hope you have a quick sale and get what you're asking for it. Do us a favor, and keep active on the site OK? The friendships go beyond the motorcycles:)

Thanks Bill and Steve,
No, not an easy decision.....but I might add that this is not an act of desperation....but will certainly make our transition easier. It all makes sense on paper but not quite in the heart, if you know what I mean.
Want to know something funny? I've been bewitched by the Kawasaki W650 (Triumph Bonnie copy). I miss being able to cruise the backroads up north (the Vic weighs too much, and I can't get it dirty!) and a bike like the Kawa could possibly do both.
Prior to getting the Vic we had a Honda 250 XL (1975) which was a tremendous bike for that part of the country. I used to ride around with my son Joe holding on to the convenient crossbar of the handlebars. That bike has been restored and now resides in Bemidji, owned by a good friend who plays drums for "Blew Munday".
What can I say..? The Vic has been a tremendous bike and ..sure..I love that old bomb... like I wrote in the post, someone is going to get one hell of a bike ( well, not actually as I wrote it).
Sometimes you test the waters, sometimes you hope that affairs change so you don't have to test the waters..... but either way, we made the decision and I'm good with that. Hell, what do they say?...the only constant in life is change..
Regardless...the friends that I have made here will hopefully still be my friends when I'm an old man...oh..say...4 years from now....
<G>.
I suppose I'll have to get a Crotchety-Rocket then.....
Stay warm,
Your old pal Jimbob

Jim. I don't think the value of your bike will fall much if you ride it until you sell it. We in the Twin citites have been looking forward to sharing our rides with you and for me this is a sad day to say the least. Everything that hapens has some good to it and I am sure that this will too. But we all can be sad for awhile anyway. Hope you get a chance to ride with us but I also hope everything works out good with your sale. Kinda a dicotomy. woa what a big word. Get me back on my bike soon.

Jim, I didn't get to really ride with you, but met you a couple of times. I think you were one of the first Vic guys I met. (at the Cycle World Show way back when) I know you enough, to know I am bummed you are selling and never got the chance to ride with you. Good luck, and I really hope things work out and I'll get that chance to ride with you both.
Good luck to you and Bobbie. Make sure you stay in touch!

Man, sure am sorry to hear this. I have a tough time parting with a bike.....even when I have several others to ride! Had a great time riding with both of you. Best of luck and hope you can buy another one soon.

Damn, I'm reading the posts and it's like I died or something.
I didn't know you folks cared so much.....
I'm doin' what I can to keep the ol' girl....after all, if I sold her, I'd have to give her away like Briscoe Darling in the old "Andy Griffith" shows. "Now you boys...You boys know what a transmission seee-lector is don' ya? "Al-right...then Jus' put yur feet on that there liddle perdy thing that juts out on yer left side down. Now just tap it there boy and that liddle skinny lever there on yer left? Well, jus' release it a little bit...hold on there boy!,,,I meant yur dang clutch lever boy!..yur clutch lever!
I meant that there handlebar thang.......now ya gots to kick start it agin!
These there kids'll never learn.
No, I didn't contribute to the Fargo script.

Hi Jim and Bobbi. I hope that you able to work it out and keep the Vic, but even if you don't, I expect to see you guys up in Big Falls for the Caterpillar run. (even if you have to drive a cage there). Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

Oh super idea Lee! I can vouch for the fact that we might need a chase vehicle. You just never know when another rider may need to get out and step in for some rooky that can't hold his line in the twisties. Not that it would ever happen again but it could.

Jim- sorry to hear the news, hopefully things will work out for you soon and you won't have to sell the bike. Jim

I don't think the Kawasaki will be that great for the dirt (roads or otherwise). I'd probably take a look at that Suzuki V-Strom for that purpose.
I wish today was three years ago before I bought my Vic, I'd purchase your bike in a second (I wanted a KYSO). I do love my bike, though. I've even been out in the garage working on it in this lousy weather from time to time.
Best wishes as you sell your bike (may you get what it is worth) and hopefully you'll be able to join the ranks of Victory owners again in the future!
