The Speedometer on my 2007 Kingpin is intermittently not working. The dealer already replaced it a few weeks ago under warranty. It worked great for 2 days, then started intermittently not working again. Anybody had this happen on their Victory? If yes, what was the fix? Sensor or plug of some sort perhaps?

I ride a 2004 TC and the same sort of thing happened to me. Two years ago, after having ridden over 200 miles in the rain on my way to Sturgis, the speedo quit. After drying out it was fine. Then last year it just stopped working. Replaced the speed sensor and it's been fine since. Hope you can figure out what's going on.

I have had the same problem with my 2004 king pin. What was the problem was the speed sensor after washing or riding in the rain had water in it. Victory change the style shortly after 2004 because of water getting into the senors.
If you are having this problem after the bike gets wet my be from water in the connector or in the sensor itself. Best practice is to put dielectric grease in the connections to keep water out or you could have a sensor that just failed. The sensor is by your front drive pulley you can look at it see if any thing does not look right. Good luck

Thanks for the input thus far.
My Kingpin is a "new" 2007 - with only about 2000 miles on it. Guess that would mean that the sensor is not the same part as your two 2004 models. With mine, it makes no difference if the bike is dry, wet, engine warm, engine cold - it's completely intermittent when it malfunctions.

the problem was the speed sensor after washing
I've never had that problem, I seem to never wash it. :D

I hear a clean bike is faster. With the red bikes being so pretty a guy really wants to keep cleaning it.

Paul makes a good point. When I thought about it like he did, I recalled I have never seen anyone washing a mud fence either...why wash something that is not pretty to begin with?;)

Any new technical ideas? Still trying to hammer out this issue here... thx.

Still sounds like it could be related to the sensor. Did the dealer check that out when he replaced the speedometer? Maybe a crimped wire running from the sensor? On the '04 the self-canceling feature for the turn signals stopped working when the speed sensor failed (that feature is tied to bike speed as well as lean angle). I have no idea if that is the case with your '07 but you might want to check that out, as well.
Wish I could be more helpful--good luck!

I reccomend replacing the sensor. These fail occasionally. I just replaced the sensor on my 01 GasBomb. There is a method to test the sensor but it is rather time consuming so dealers generally just replace it. It is very rare that a newer Vic has a speedo issue.

Well the dealer replaced the sensor. So far I've ridden a tank of gas through it without any intermittent issues. Hopefully this works. I don't want to be pissed at my bike. lol
