:gunrev: around here it's the river road from jordan thru belle plain and down to henderson, biker friendly bars in henderson.lots ofcurves on the road and great scenery. In the summer it's not unusual to see another dozen or so out riding at dusk,I remember riding on 1o1 when it was great fun from shakopee to chanhassen so i like that one too...

Magnum, I've done the one from Jorden to Henderson, it's a good one. Also done one of yours 06shooter, the one to Chanhassen. Used to do both these as a young lad. Both great.

But my favorite is 60 from Zumbro Falls to Wabasha. If anyone goes on the flood run this year, and haven't tried this road, it is absolutely a blast! The road is great, they re-blacktopped it last year. Great scenery, and it must be somewhere around 20 miles in length, maybe even more.

I guess if one was doing the Flood run, you'd be going from Wabasha to Zumbro Falls. And if you stay on 60, you'll end up at 52 in Zumbrota. Time it right (not the Flood run weekends) and you can check out the pro outdoor motocross races in the Millville area, as well as a number of amature races.

Hyw.19 between Cannon Falls and Red Wing. It's got some twists and some elevation change. the road was in vary good condition last year

Speaking of that road Mark, have you ever taken left in Vasa? Heads down to Welsh, and is EXTREMELY twisty! Not real long, but is one of the kinky-est roads I know of! (and I'm somewhat an expert on kinky):bounce:

I have to vote for 38, as well as 60...both FANTASTIC roads! There's another real nice one in SE Minnesota...I think it was 16. Hil and I traveled that on a couple years ago on a trip and loved it. Dang I can't wait to ride again!

I will agree on this one. Last fall took County O off 35 in Wisc which I thought was the best but they had a bridge out. RedVic had told me about their putting fresh blacktop on 60 so took it on the way home and it was great climbing out of the Mississippi Valley. And so close to home.

I like the ride from Stillwater down on the west side of the river on 21 to Hastings then the back road down toward Treasure Island then up to the one that goes through Welsh village and all the way down to 52 catch 60 to Wabasha. Eat at the Wabasha hotel and head back. Wow what a ride.
I think the best part of the hole ride is 60.
Up down over and through sound like one of my favorite things to do.
Ride that is.

Sparky_Bill is right...Cty O in Wisconsin, accessible by Hwy 10 (West of Ellsworth) or 35 (South of Diamond Bluff), is the best "twisties" road in the area. I often make a trip of riding down to Welch (take the road from Hastings which runs along the river to the Casino), into Vasa, then back into Red Wing, north to O, East to 10, North on F (the "dip" near the state park is one of my favorite places in the area), then back across the river on 94, south through Afton, back to home.

A thoroughly enjoyable ride.

Sounds like we have all been on the same roads!!!

How about back roads around Alma WI??? Just pick a road and see where it goes. most of the time they aren't even marked.

That area is my fav for an overnight trip with the boys or just Karen and I. 99% of all back roads are paved in that area, up and down the river bluffs and small towns everywhere with a population of average maybe ten in each town and every one of them has a bar for a refreshing break and a bite to eat.

oops, I meant 65 not 6. Also, how about county S between Osceola and Dresser.

Hehehe...that's cause the other "cruiser guys" can't do the twisties like a Victory "cruiser guy". Lee, we have to work out something for the head pipes...maybe the show??

I have to say my favorite trail is to take Hwy 3 from Mendota/Eagan (Hwy. 52) down south to Northfield for a warm-up. Then take Cty. 19 from Northfield to Red Wing. Hop on 61 in Red Wing and travel to either Lake City or Wabasha, depending on time, cross the river to Wisconsin and take 35 north to Prescott then back across the reiver to Hastings and 52 homeward.

It's a great way to spend a Saturday on a warm day...

A great 15 mile stretch of road is Cty 8 going from Lakeville to Jordan. Very smooth, twisty, and lots of elevation.

Joe you read my mind! That stretch you talk about is great fun. I rode it a few times on my lil Yamaha last year... awesome scenery! :D

Another great piece of road is US Hwy 1 from Finland to Ely. Takes half a day just to get there, however, lots of nice banked turns through the woods . It's about 50 miles in length, I estimate 4 to 5 corners per mile on the best sections. There are a few straights on which to open 'er up as well. (early Sunday morning is best to avoid camper dirigibles). This is an overnight trip. Plus, you get to drive up the north shore to get there. One of the Blind Lizzard founders now lives just outside of Finland. There was a rat bike fest held in Isabella during summer, I don't know if this still happens or not. The only down side is this road suffers from frost heave and can be rough in spots.
