I just wanted to say howdy and thank Swiffer and 06shooter for inviting me to the boards! :D
I'm a new Vic owner and excited as hell to get out there and ride!
Also wanted to let you all know that I own a Radio Shack and do computer repair so if anyone has any electronics, cell phone or computer questions just let me know and I will try to answer them ASAP.

Rockney, I have a question for you. I have been thinking about installing a radio on my bike. This is what I had in mind. I met a guy last summer with a Valkrie, and he installed a radio in the saddle bag then attached the de-tachable face of the radio to the handle bar risers. He had to solder conectors to the de-tachable face and run the wires to the radio. He also had speakers mounted into HD spedo housings then he mounted those to the crash bars. This was one of the most clever installs I've seen. What do you think?

That sounds very cool... Would be a bit tricky though I would think since most of the detachable face stereos have alot of switches that have to be depressed in order to be fully functional.
Great idea though... I would make sure to have a look at all the little switches and such that are actually mechanical in nature.
Also with Vics vibrating and such you will want to make sure that the soldering is very strong and the wiring nice and tight going to the bags.
Hope that helps.:)

Here is one. Something to plug into an outlet which will set off an audible alarm if the outlet goes dead.

I know I could build one from parts but looking to see if there is a cheap setup already there.

Bill,
I haven't been able to find anything that's pre-made so I'm thinking you would have to make it yourself...
There may be something out there but I wasn't able to locate anything at this time.
Hell RadioShack comes up with stuff all the time so it wouldn't surprise me to see something pop up that would do just what you are looking for.
Sorry... wish I could've been more help for ya.
