I thought the article was pretty good, even though the focus of the entire magazine seemed to be on the 100th anniversary Road King.
Just for conversation's sake, the negatives of the bike were as follows:
1) Forward set footpegs
2) Seat designed for looks, not comfort
3) Wide, tall handlebar
4) Filler panels on engine (as on all new Victory motorcycles)
5) No steering head lock.
I agree about the filler panels. Victory needed something there aesthetically (which is why I bought the Ness horn relocation kit, but didn't move the horn), but they don't want to imitate the air cleaner on a Harley. Remove the air filter and unchrome the engine, and Harley's TC88 looks just as "square" as the Freedom engine. As for the missing steering head lock, I know that is what my buddy's 1200 sportster has (i.e. he has to use a padlock)...I'm not sure about the big twins.
It's important to notice Dyno results...HD with Stage I kit, 73 HP and 83.8 lbs/ft torque. Stock Freedom engine, 74 HP, 84 lbs/ft torque. Seems like Victory has a winner, even without Stage I and Stage II kits!
My favorite part of the Road King article was this statement, "there's no storage anywhere except that in the saddlebags."
That's about the most idiotic statement I've ever read about a cruiser...would Mark Tuttle (author) like a glove box in the gas tank?
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year!

I know what you mean Chris...I thought that's why they put pockets in pants!

The article about the new Vegas was short but good. Sounded very possitive about most every thing. I liked the part that mentioned Victory is planning even more additions and changes for the next few years. Sounds like there in it for the long haul. mark o (Obe-1)
