:gunrev: you know i thought about going on a ride on new year's and i might, then i thought about what that mean's,to bundle up and hit the road,a little ice on the backroad's yet, brisk wind, shocked cage rider's not expecting to see a bike this time of year. And then I can't help but think of all the people from the world trade center,my fellow veteran's that haven't come home from around the world's hotspot's and the bro's iv'e lost in the travel's of my life so far and you know i think about that when i'm riding and in some way i don't really understand they are still alive and as i get further along in this life i do a lot more to honor the memorie's of them in the little way's that i can. I used to ride my suzuki 380 in 1974 from Osseo to Jordan in Jan and Feb to get a piece of ass and there are many of my dead bro's that would say that's a good enuff reason to ride anytime.Happy New Year and god bless.:gun:

I do not think Lee would want any part of THAT idea but he is looking to put a ride together on New Years Day. What you guys work out AFTER the ride is your business. :p

As you wrote, life is short, so live to ride and ride to live.

Bill, Why did you close the other thread?

Anyways, it sounds like today (saturday) is going to be pretty nice. Anybody want to put some miles on?

( Sid must be out of town, or he would have responded by now) :p

Lee, I hope you were able to get a putt in today...it was beautiful out! I would've hooked up with you, but I have no tires mounted right now and for some reason it just doesn't want to go very well with no tires and wheels. I did see a couple sport bikes out tooling around today, but not a single cruiser.

As I was leaving my place to go for a ride yesterday, I ran into my brother-in-law going for a short putt on his Harley. He was only planning on going for a short ride around the neighborhood, but I talked him into going for a real ride. We got about 15 miles from home and his bike decided to shit a pushrod (you know how Harley are LOL). Anyway, after limping his bike back home, I went out by myself and put on some more miles. It was a beautiful day, I can't believe more people weren't out. I never saw another bike. After I got home I changed my oil and fixed my rear turn signals and my front spotlights. So I am all ready to go out again today.

It's supposed to be even nicer!!

Lee

Anybody want to meet up and put some miles on?

Lee, I'm jealous, it was truly a beautiful day out and here i am without a bike to ride. What makes it worse is that I can't even use my snowmobile this year to help ease the pain of not being able to ride on two wheels. Oh well. Hope you had a great Christmas, and if you do go for a ride on new years day, be safe and have fun. Jim

Oh well, I can't keep quite any longer, I will have a new TC from Dean sometime in the next 3 months. I ordered one last fall under that special deal Polaris was running where they made it to your specs (well some specs anyway). I brought in the 99 to Dean when I thought the riding season was over, how was I to know-I could have kept riding it till the new one was built!!!! Looking forward to this spring, you know how kids are with new toys, well at least I admit I'm a 54 year old kid! Happy New Year to all of you who read this post. Jim

That's cool Jim. What color did you get, and how did you "equip" it??

I can't even remember all the options anymore, had to dig out the order form, solid red, silver engine, black frame, chrome wheels and stage one. The longer this winter goes without snow, the more anxious i get for the bike. Oh well, waiting and thinking about it is part of the fun!

You'll love that solid red! I almost wish I would have waited and gotten one of those instead of the silver/red combo. Dean has one on the floor and I just fell in love with it!

Yea Gimpy, go ahead and harass me...

Any more news on a new years day ride? Sounds like a possibility of light snow, but the weather guys never really know what's going to happen. If you guys go, PLEASE get some pics! I was getting my bike back together today so I could ride tomorrow and smashed the he## out of my thumb and had to stop:mad:, so I won't be able to make it. It would be fun to say I rode on the first day of 2003 in Minnesota though...how often does that opportunity arise?

I checked the weather and it looks like any snow is going to go north of us. I also have an idea...if I can find the details. I know that there is a group that is taking a New Year's Day swim in Lake Minnetonka today, but I don't know where exactly. If we can find out where, I think that it would be a good destination. The local media will be there, I'm sure, and maybe we could get a little exposure for pur bikes and the TCVR. I am still searching to try to find out the location. I will post it if I can find it. Anybody else know?

Ok, i found it. It is pretty early though. It is at 9:30 at Maynard's resturant in Excelsior. 685 Excelsior Blvd. It is an American Lung Association event. I am up for it if anyone else is.

Ok, I just now saw the other post about meeting at 11:00 in Osseo. (oops) Maybe I will ride down to Excelsior and then up to meet you guys. (unless you want to go along). I will have to leave my house by about 8:15 to make sure I'm in Excelsior by 9:30. Sid, please call me as soon as you get this message.

I do not think I closed it. If I did it was an accident for sure.

I am sorry I was not able to get on to post for a few days. Went for a ride Sunday. Stop over to Tom's from Warners. He laughed that I was out riding. Asked if could come out to play. Saturday would have been a better day to ride. Saw two other cruisers out there. Today would have been too cold for me as I do not like to hit ice then hit the pavement.

Lee did you go out on the 1st of 2003?

Bill, you missed a good ride today! Tom had mentioned you said you were gonna go no matter what today, so I kind of expected you to make it! We definitely got a few "looks" today:)
