Since Dad [Wingnutx7 - Jeff] had to fly out to Boston for business on Father's Day, it was the second Father's Day I couldn't spend time with. He was gone a week and it was a little depressing. I would rather take off Father's Day than Christmas Eve.
Well while I was at work, I was trying to think of something to do for him that wouldn't break my piggy bank. So there right in front of me was the new:
2008 Rocker - C
I had the perfect idea. I will set up a test drive for him. And yes I know, it's a Harley, but why not drive something you haven't before?!?! With the test drive in mind, I asked my salesmen what I have to do for him to test drive. I need a photo copy of his Driver's License, insurance policy number, helmet, and fill out the form.
It took me a few hours to think of a way to pull this off so that all he had to do was sign and date. I don't know what y'all know about dad and I, but i cannot not sneak ANYTHING by him. So I knew that this would be a challenge.
I had a plan.
I called dad from work and asked if he could fax over a photo copy of his license for "my life insurance because he a beneficiary and emergency contact." Now I know that I don't need it, duh, but it sounded plausible. What do ya know??? Dad said sure. I got his driver's license.
Now for the insurance....
I called my insurance company that I am under with dad. Asked if the Hammer was under our policy and what do ya know??? IT IS! I asked if it was this number... but no it's not the agent said... it's this number... wrote that down. This is awesome. I got everything I needed but the helmet. My salesman did the background check on the driver's license and Dad passed. :D
Here I am waiting for dad to get home and now i have to get him to ride to Wild Prairie and his helmet. I knew that dad doesn't wear his helmet when he rides over to my dealership. I tried to get him to come out on Saturday, but it was too late. Well I forgot... the helmet!?!?! ahh... I asked him if I could borrow it to show the girls what a drifter helmet looked like. He said sure! The girls actually don't know what it looked like, so that was true. Now it's Monday and I'm getting ready to leave for work. He said that he was thinking of riding to Wild Prairie.
YES! FINALLY!
I told Jason [salesman] that he was coming. I'm helping a customer with leathers and Dad walks in. My heart starting racing. I HOPE TO GOD THAT THIS WORKS OUT. I said hi and let him wander. I went to Jason and told him that my dad was here and told me to grab the helmet. We went up to dad and I asked if he was busy. Well no he was just looking around. I said okay lets go. You get to ride a Rocker or a V-Rod. Your choice. He goes I need a helmet. I gave him his. I told him here is Jason. Go with him.
You guys, I PULLED IT OFF. I FINALLY SURPRISED DAD. HE HAD NO IDEA!!! I think this was the best thing I have ever done. I got him so good. Jason took care of him. Had him sign and date. Dad ask if he need his Driver's License and Jason said he already had it. [mu-hahaha] Dad got on the bike. I took two photos. He was so surprised.
And off he went.
I was so happy.
Now there are no regrets. I am so HAPPY that dad bought the Victory Hammer. The rocker is cool, but it doesn't fit Dad and his personality. Dad was just so happy that I did something for him, but all in all he LOVES his Victory! I just had to show with you guys on one of the best days of my life. I'm sure dad will tell his story.
Oh! and Jason came up to me and just started laughing... he goes, " Your dad just said to me... 'That lil sh*t, Now I have to get back at her!'..." hahaha. And then Britt my receptionist goes, "Your Dad said he feels like he just got Punk'd in a good way!"
GOSH I AM GOOD!!!
