After 6 weeks #1061 is home! What a difference in ride. I had the tranny gears replaced, torque compensator, tps sensor and a few other parts. It's like a new bike....gone is the lash in the drivetrain, gone is the ballpein hammer whack when you shift, no more stuttering when you try to hold a constant speed, and my low speed (before the infamous clunka-clunka-clunk) driveability has increased....I can take any gear down to around idle speed without sounding like a jackhammer. Truly amazing. I also had the plugs changed, new air filter and oil change.
What's even better is that the bike was delivered to my door step and shining like a floor room model.
What was wrong? bent shift fork, worn washers, loose parts that let the shift barrel slide, loose clutch basket, bad tps sensor, worn torque compensator.
And let me say that Keith at Magnum did a great job! If anyone needs a great Vic dealer...it's Magnum Power Sports in Nashwauk.
This guy loves Vics and he knows how to tweak and fix them. Plus he's a down to earth guy and damn honest. No, I'm not getting paid to say that.
Now I have to change my duds and go out riding!
talk at you later,
Jimbob
