I've ridden with you guys more than other group. I've noticed something and I was wondering if I'm the only one. If you're anywhere after the third bike or so the sound is different. There's a sort of throbbing resonance that's deep and doesn't sound like any one bike. Sort of like a freight train passing or something.

Unless I'm hearing things I think it was becase most bikes in the group were '99 and '00 models so most of us were turning over at the same rpm and it resonates. I wonder if this will go away as more model years get mixed together and the gear ratios are different.

Any one else notice it?

You are too scientific..... grin

I can't say I have but will be more atuned to this the next ride. I will listen on the 7th for sure.

Yep, I've noticed it. I LOVE that sound...perfect harmony:) . I remember WAY back when Jim(mrhawk) and I used to ride together once in awhile. At the time we both wanted Harleys(thank god we snapped out of THAT). Anyway, I always used to comment how nice it'll be someday when we're puttin' side by side with loud pipes on that other V-twin;) and the exhaust hits that perfect harmony...nothing sweeter in this world IMO. Well, maybe the sound of open drags when you open the throttle at 70! Remember Jim? Man that seems like a life time ago.

You may have to give up the lead to hear it Sparky. Get in the pack and ride tight and you'll have a better chance at it.
