Will this fit my V92C for a passenger backrest?

What is the frame part for it? How could I make it work? DO I need a different bracket?

Thanks All,
John Ritter

NO, I think it's designed to mount on a RubberMaid Tote...... :duel:

John,

I vote that the answer is NO. Unless you are able to acquire the side mounts that will connect this to the sides of the fender. Here is a picture of what you need:

From the Victory-USA website:
"Here’s a backrest/sissy bar combo at a mid-height of 15.5”. It provides comfort and support to a rider or passenger as it offers a solid, secure elevated backrest with a nicely padded cushion. The sissy bar includes side plates. The backrest/sissy bar fits 1999 and newer V92C & V92SC models only."

Thanks Joe. At least someone takes my issues seriously:(

What is this one for? I am guessing the one that I need for a passenger is going to be wider at the backrest base...

ANybody have one that will fit my bike like the one that Joe showed?(that they want to get rid of cheap?)

that would mount perfectly to my simplicity riding lawn mower if you want to sell it :antsy:

Ok John,

You could take it down to Dean's, see if he has the correct mounting plates, if there still available. The bar itself looks like the one I have on the SC.

John,

The photo that Joe showed is the one that I have for my '00 V92C. The lower brackets are "width'ed" to be bolted through the Victory fender rails, so it is a bit wider than would be needed if you were bolting it directly to the fender. Have you held the bracket you have up to your fender to see if the bolt holes line up? If they do and the plastic bits can be removed, maybe yours will work?

Also, the actual backrest part, and pad of Joe's photo is probably the same that is used on some Kawasaki cruisers. That information came to me from Gary Kendrick of Mustang Seats, if I remember his name correctly. He designed Mustang's backrest pad for V92C, using my bike with luggage and backrest as the prototype design model. So.....I'm just taking a guess, but maybe a Kawasaki part will fit.

John,

This backrest is available in 13.5", 15.5" and 17.5". MSRP is $299 and includes the back pad and mounting brackets.

Part Number - Description
2873713 - BACKREST 13.5"
2873887 - BACKREST 15.5"
2873886 - BACKREST 17.5"

Check with your local dealer for inventory. If you can't find one, all three sizes are currently IN STOCK at Victory.

Thanks Ted and TCVR Team.

I think I fugured out the issue:

When I bought this backrest, they shipped it with the mounting brackets on the wrong side, thus making the mounts too narrow.

John that looks like it came of a V92C Deluxe. the black brackets bolt to the side of the fender and the Deluxe bags bolt to the other2 holes on the black bracket.
I think the back rest only fits the deluxe.

It appears you've got this solved, so this info is probably just extra info for just the record.
These backrests were made by Cobra engineering.
The side plate part numbers for them are 5245668, and 5245667 however are no longer available from Polaris (unless you buy the whole backrest assembly).
