Dean's getting a ride together to leave Warner's around 8 or 9 am on the 7th. of September to head "the long way" to Osceola! It's during the "Wings & Wheels" event held there every year. Maybe a factory tour and it sounds like the factory boys may be there with the Vegas's! That's our anniversary, what a better way to spend it:rolleyes: ! Can't wait to see a Vegas in person...BTW, be sure to stop into Warner's and see the Vegas commercial on the computer they have set-up on the floor. It's AWSEOME!!

I'm game. I really want to see the new Vegas. Gotta decide what I'mgoing to do, if I'm going to custom order one, keep mine, or get the Vegas!:bounce:

Pat, what you need to do is keep your '99 for trips...AND have a Vegas as a solo bike! Hehehe, at least that's the logic I'm trying to get past Hilary:D

Hey all,
How long does this ride usually last? I have a party that night that I need to attend. I would really like to meet you guys an' take a tootle up there with all ya'all.

Also, Old 22 said all bikes are welcome, does that go as far to say that even rockets are welcome? My roommate has an F3 and he may be interested in taking a group ride with us. I totally understand if rockets are not looked highly upon and doesn't bother me either way.

Thanks!

John, your buddy's more than welcome to ride along I'm sure! You will be able to cut out any time you need to for the party. I would think we would arrive in Osceola around 11-12, the tour usually doesn't take too long. I'm looking forward to seeing the Vegas up close and personal...don't want to miss this opportunity:)

Okay, we are going.... smile.... got to see that bike, for real. Wish I had rode with Lee that night but this is great Dean, just great.

Lil, I am ALWAYS nice to you. Saw Jim Monday night. He was just riding towards 35W on 98th, I think he just put money down on YOUR new Vegas.... but could not confirm my guess which makes me more believe me.... grin

so many things....
first off, we worked on Mon and Tues getting our apartment together... Then I never called Bill (Hell, I hardly had time when I wasn't shopping or lugging something up the elevator)...then I had to go home to get back to work....All my friends here in town think I've gone off my nut because of the Minneapolis thing.
But...I should be finished with work by then and would love to come along on the ride. I haven't had a vacation since '99 and I plan on taking a ride in Sept.....just packing up and flying (maybe doing the Randy thing). My bike is almost back together. Because of my dealer's request I can't tell you all the of the changes....but ol' 1061 is going to be tight and cruising with no whip-lash.
I should be in town that weekend. It all sounds great.

Have fun all.

I will not be able to make the run as it is also my wife and my anniversery. We are taking a few days away from harth, home and kids. Kathy is afraid of the big bikes so I could not talk her into making the trip on two wheels.

Enjoy

I'm working on the Warden to prepare her for my going on this ride. Our anniversary is a few days later (9-11) and since we really didn't celebrate our 25th Anniversary last year (for obvious reasons) I think we will be trying to do something special this year. I'm thinking of maybe even taking her to a movie!

Regardless - I want to ride :bounce: while I can
because winter is coming like a freight train... :gun:

Besides - most of you probably think I really don't exist! :D

Saw the new Vegas in Sturgis and WOOOOW. What a gorgeous motorcycle. Black with the silver engine and chrome package is my personal choice. Victory had an approx. 30 x 30 screen right at the bottom of the exit ramp to Sturgis where they showed the commercial that Dean has running. Awesome.....Put a stage II kit in the Vegas and bye bye VTX.......It is one beautiful bike.
Put mine on the ground out in S.D. Warners has it now replacing parts, over $3600 worth. No personal damage and all the bike damage was hang on stuff......

I have a camping trip on September 7th. Every year I meet a large # of old friends in Park Rapids for a camp out, and every year you guys go to Osceola, and see cool new things. I wish I could do both. I believe the same thing happens when you go to Sprit Lake. I have never been able to make that trip either, and these are places I would really like to see. The TCVR club sounds like it is doing well. You guys and gals have a good time.

It sounds like we get to be in the "went down" club that has a special motto..."trashed my accessories, but not the bike."

I don't think the Stage II will smoke a VTX...that's a lot of HP and Torque with that monster...the Victory, however, does look 1000 times better. It will be interesting to see what additional accessories are created for the bike (hard bags, etc.).

Honda, by the way, is overdue for releasing a Road King/TC type motorcycle based on the VTX. Can't be long...

I should be in town with the vic this weekend. Hopefully Bobbi and I can get together with everyone for the ride.
The Vic runs so good now that I can't get enough of being in the saddle.
Who would have ever thought that I could idle up my driveway hill in third gear (literally,,,1000 rpm) with no bucking or clunking.
amazing...!

Hil and I look forward to seeing you guys Saturday...it was a bummer the weather turned bad on the Caterpillar Run so we couldn't swing by then. You guys with the updated tranny's are making me EXTREMELY jealous! Can't wait to get mine done. I'm trying my best not to be a pest at Warner's, but so anxious for it to arrive:D . Jim, do you know how to get to Warners? If you need directions, give me a call...our new number's in my profile.

Steve...
change of plans. I'm coming down but not with the Vic (blast!). We have to move some more furniture and I can't haul the entertainment center on the bike. Although I bet that would look pretty interesting. I'm hoping to bring the Vic down in the near future though.

Bummer! There is a guy here(bad with names) that pulls a kayak with his '99:) ...I bet you could do the entertainment center! Where are/will you two be living down here? We just moved over the weekend(thanks again Jim & Amy!), it's no fun that's for sure.

Sid, I was looking forward to that. I brought up the big coffee pot to have coffee before we took off to Dean's. BUT I have to decline. Just got a call from my mother and her sister just died and the visitation will be Friday and funeral will be Saturday morning and it's in Fort Francis Ont. so I can not make it.

Someday I will see the Vegas. You guys and gals, ride safe.

Sorry for your loss Bill. We'll catch you on the next go-round. Looks like I'll be able to make the trip as well. I'll try to hook up with Sid at Crystal Marine about 7:30am (I don't drink coffee but I don't think it's a good idea to let Skid ride alone:D ). Although I don't drink coffee, I do drink beer and I'll probably depart earlier than the rest of the group from Osceola to attend the fall brew review downtown at Peavy Plaza. It's their 2nd annual and was pretty good last year. Looking forward to seeing all on Saturday morning to see some of the old faces (some older than others:rolleyes: myself included) and to meet some new.

Fun time yesterday, and nice seeing everybody again. Who cares if we, uh, got lost for a bit. The weather was so nice, it just added to our ride!!!

Wish I could have stayed longer in Osceola, all the old cars coming by were cool.

The Vegas, man what a bike. I REALLY loved it. Still glad I got my TC, (hey, the seat is finally breaking in) but if I didn't want a shield and bags on a bike, I'd have to have one of those! And I love that custom Ness too, it was sharp!
(pictures anyone?)

I even got my hearing back from riding behind Ritt!!

It was nice seeing everyone again! Man, there's getting to be quite a large group on some of these rides...and my memory banks can only hold so many names:) . Any ways, it was good to see the "old" TCVR'rs and nice to meet some more new ones. Wish I could remember all the names but I can't. The more rides we go on, the better my memory will become(I hope). You're right Pat, the Vegas is one sweet lookin' ride! I know if I could swing it, I'd be adding the blue or black to my garage. The best part was that the bike seemed to "fit" everyone who sat on it. They must have spent some time on the ergonomics of this bike!

Hil and I had a great ride to Hinckley, a nice stay at the Inn and another great ride home today. Took a rest stop in Taylors Falls and ALMOST went on one of the river cruises...gotta make a note to do that one of these days before it turns cold.

Thumper, did you make it home OK? We watched you leave and Bigfoot was looking awful sharp!

Steve

Wow - what a crowd on that ride!

Of course I was running close to the back and we got split up from the front of the group and then found the wrong County Road "M". Turned out fine as we beat the first half of the group into town where we met up for gas, pop. :)

The Vegas.. What can I say (besides I want one).... Truly a work of art.

The tour of the Victory engine plant was pretty cool too.. Seeing all those new parts and whatnot - well, I sure wished I had a BIG BACKPACK on! :D

I wandered around the car show for a while and picked up some books that I wanted since they were half-price at Classic Motorbooks. Ended up taking a nice leisurely ride back solo through to Minneapolis.. Took the Wisconsin 35 route.

Swiffer - I made it back in plenty of time to go to work over at Dad's.. Sanding and staining listening to the V-twins rumble down Hwy-55.. I wished I could have just hopped BigFoot and rode along withem... :)

I will never remember all the names/faces I met on this ride. I will say that I had a heckuva good time and I am looking forward to the next one - although it is tough keeping a group that size all together... I didn't get a count of scooters, but there had to be at least 30 of us...

Thanks AGAIN to Super-Dealer "DEAN" for the Coffee and Donuts..

Ritt - Man, those pipes are like a pair of CANNONS!

John Ritter
09-09-2002, 03:27 PM
The ride was a huge success! I was glad to meet so many of you. Although names are certainly not a strong point for me, the faces and fun will always be remembered. Even my Red-Rocket Honda friend mentioned how nice all off you were. My reply "Victory people,... we's good people"
Dean,
thanks for putting the effort to put this on for everybody. I wish I didn't have a warrantee that limited me to my dealer only.
I'm glad my stainless-"safety-devices" were fairly-well like...even if it was from everywhere except behind me.
The Vegas: git me a little more ponies, a larger rear wheel, straight bars, chrome package, including the rear swing arm, black and silver....and of course... some super-long 3 inch "cannons"
I am looking forward to meeting you all again for more rides, it was certainly enjoyable...but too damn hot... I got kinda blitzed that night cause I think I was dehydrated....or was that why I drank so much? hell, I can't remember....
