Fall is here and as usual, field mice are moving into the more comfy quarters inside the house. How many have you killed, how were they trapped, and how did they die? Four in total so far for me.......

One trapped alive in glue trap with bait pellets, killed in kitchen sink by crushing it.
Two trapped in snap-trap baited with sharp cheddar, killed by the trap.
One trapped by the leg in snap-trap baited with sharp cheddar, killed by crushing in kitchen sink.

Poor little bastards! :gun:

If I were starving to death I'd be eating these suckers.

One mouse crushed by 6 inch adjustable wrench.

Get them before they get in. Above critter reminded me to replace

bait.

Good idea. You're using Warfarin (d-con) I suppose? What do you put it in so the birds can't get to it? Here in central IL, at least the common sparrows are present year round.....not sure if the chipping sparrows are though.

I once worked at a scummy Ramada Inn hotel in Omaha by the airport (torn down now) as a Bell Boy and then Asst. Manager (go figure). One time I was walking through the kitchen area where we had these bread carts full of bread. There were two mice stuck to those sticky pad thingers, one on each side of the bread cart. The mice were still alive and jerking feaverishly to get off. I went to pick them up and throw them away but the head chef stopped me. He told me that those were his gaurds and that they tell the other mice to stay out of the bread. I just put my hands up and left the kitchen.

Our exterminator at work gave me some of his outdated bait stations. The new ones are plastic they don"t get all dented .

Basicly a box with two small holes you place against a wall and a removeable cover to place the DCon inside. They work well if you keep DCon
in them.

Mice or men this thread brings out the need to rid. I must say that I have not laid a trap YET this year but I will say that my trap of choice is this one http://www.intruderinc.com/mousetrap/mousetrap.html made in Wisc. Those cheesehead know their mice. I hardley have to bait them. I place jaws toward the wall and the mouse just runs over them. SNAP.... another one bites the dust.

I was think of using D-Con and a small dish of anti-freeze to quench their thirst.

You guys want pictures?????

Have you seen one in the pipe of your motorcycle? I have seen mouse used it during the winter and froze in there. I cover the exhaust pipe during winter.

I've caught 4 in the garage so far this fall. All with glue traps baited with peanut butter. I just picked them up and threw them in the trash.

I also caught a chipmunk with an old fashioned rat trap baited with peanut butter. He was living in a hole in the concrete by my garage.

I lost count but I think I'm up to about 10. I've taken to attaching half a peanut to the bait platform with glue. Hasn't failed a single time. Just bought a dozen steel traps from this place:

Haven't seen any mice this year, but my wife saw a spider the other night lounging in the pool. She swears it was the size of her palm.

Big Orange Tom Cat 4, brought one to bed. We don't see much of him now that he has tasted blood.

Well finally I can chime in on a mouse count. I got my first one this season today. Must finally be getting cold out and they are coming in.
