I have the stage one kit installed. What else does the power commander do for bike? I am not familiar enough with it. Also, what brand is it? Is it the one by Ness? How hard is it to install, and does it replace any of the stock components?

Are the pipes drag pipes or performance pipes?

The pipes are the victory stage 1 slip ons. The power commander is made by power commander. It takes the place of you stock commputer you can fine tune it with the help of a dyno.

Maximizing performance takes a perfect balance of fuel delivery AND engine timing. Power Commander-type units only adjust fuel delivery...they do not affect engine timing...so all you are really doing is throwing more fuel on top of the factory settings....making the bike run too rich most of the time.

These units, especially matched with a Stage 1 program (a richer fuel delivery setting than stock), run you the risk of not having ENOUGH adjustment to lean the bike out as far as you NEED for maximum power. If you read the new Lloyd's instructions, they call for a STOCK program....because with a Stage 1 program, the bike will run too rich throughout the entire RPM range. (I have personally experienced this.)

Unless you spend money on a couple hours of dyno-tuning at 100-200 RPM increments with a reputable high performance tuner, you have a very high chance of hurting your bike's performance, versus enhancing it.
