I've done it a couple of years and we'd planned on a group this year but since one of my bro-in-laws ( a Davis ) wants to do the Davis Rally in IA the same weekend, I may have to go to that. Now for me, that's a sacrifice since the Davis is a family oriented rally and he wants to get some t-shirts and stuff with the Davis name. The Chili Feed, as those who know can testify, is anything but a family oriented weekend and since that's my kind of rally, doing the Davis Rally is giving up a boobfest that is hard for me to do.
AAHHH Well, he's a good guy and it's family and all so it's the Davis Rally for me this year from the sound of it.

I believe this is always the same weekend that Polaris has their open house in Osceola. We normally have a group that leaves from Warners and rides up there. The town also has a car and airplane show as well. A few of the riders would ride to their, then take off for the chilli feed afterwords.
I am going to try to attend both this year.
I used to be able to get tickets in advance (as they are much cheaper) but don't think I can anymore.
Is there anybody here that can get tickets in advance?

Go to the thier web site and see the places that have the advance tickets. There is one in Prior Lake too. The places are on the poster.

Just a suggestion
There are limited good camping spots, so I plan to get there early, and set up my tent and stake a claim on a spot, then going riding from there. With that said, I will almost certainly be assured a fairly quiet place to sleep. I may also have some rope to reserve a few spots next to our tent but once again, the later you arrive the less chance you have of finding a decent spot to park and camp regardless of how much rope anyone puts up! I could bring my VIC banner to let other Vics/TCVR riders know where I am.

I wish I could have stayed the night at this event last year. It was safe and fun. Good chilli and nice views.
This year I have a wedding that night but might be able to join for the ride during the day.

We found some nice camping sites, tho kind of far from the potties lined up, by taking a right at gate and going down to the bridge over the creek. We got about 3 tents and a camper in just to the left of the bridge and had good privacy, decent flat sleeping, and not to close to the rowdiness. 'Course, if you're there for the rowdiness, that's not a good spot. If I was going I'd be there early on Friday and lock those spots up, but alas, it's the Davis rally in New Hampton IA for us this year.

Doug,
I'm going. I'll be coming down from Osceola afte the plant tour/Warner's ride. Got some friends from WI who will be meeting up with me there. If you have "room in your rope", I'd gladly pitch a tent next to the Vic banner.
No, I'm not coming on to you. :-)

Right now the plan is to ride and camp. I will be there with a few buddies so I would like to come up with a plan to meet up with those of you that are going.
It's looking more-and-more like I'll be going to this. :antsy: I have some people from work who are interested in going, and they'd like to join us for the Oceola ride as well. Has a time been discussed for what time we'll be meeting/leaving Warners yet???

Kit,
The Warner's website has 8:00am at the departure time, though I haven't talked to anyone there yet.

I'm planning on the ride to Osceola, too, but might not be able to get there quite by 8. So I might get the route and figure a place to meet along the way - maybe the St. Croix Boomsite about 10, if that's the way they'll go. Last year that's where the riding break was.
Hope you can make it!

I just talked with Dean on the telephone, he assured me that this will be a slower paced trip than the return from Spirit Lake where we may have set some new 2 wheel land speed records. :D
Count me as a strong possible attendee! :biker83:

I will be riding with a couple other vics and will be getting there when the gates open on saturday at 11:am. I will be staking a claim on a few sites on the west end of the grounds by the bridge or the same place as last year, somwhere around there. After we set up camp we are planing on going for a ride. Anyone not going to Osceola that would like to join us is more than welcome to. (I can give more info if needed) I will have a vick banner hanging and be riding the Blk&Blu 99 on this run. Hope to see you all there!!

Got my ticket, going to do the Chili Feed for the first time. Here is my plan. I will be leaving from Warner's at 8AM with the group. Will break from them at some point to be at the Chili Feed at the opening of the gate. So Doug, I will help you set up and then ride out with you. Did you and your other Vics want to do this or ride in your own route? Either way I WILL see you at 11:00.

Bill,
I will be riding with only one other VIC, (as one backed out) and that sounds like a plan to meet you there and then ride on to Osceola or wherever.

Quick question, tho I won't be there. When did they start the 11AM gate opening. I've been there a couple of times and we always went and set up on Friday afternoon or evening. I know they don't have their stuff ready but they've always let us and setup. We really like the row along the bridge area also, the one I recommended earlier. If they stick it to an 11AM opening on Saturday it must be a mad house as everyone gold rushes to their favorite spots.

I spoke with Dean. From Bloomington he's going out to Hastings, then taking 21 again. He expects to be up at the turnaround just North of the St. Croix Boomsite by 10am. That's where I'll join up with the ride.
I'm guessing that Doug and Sparky will be cutting off for Prescott before then, so I'll see you guys at the camp area. Doug, I've got a pretty big tent, so if you could rope off an area for my tent, I'd appreciate it and buy you a beer. Oh, wait, they're free... maybe I'll buy you a bowl of chili. :-)

Joe I will meet you at the Holiday for the trip to Warners.
Payner and I are meeting at the Holiday on 85th near 252 in Brooklyn Park at 7:15 also. Maybe we can merge groups somewhere along the way to Warners. I'll check posts in the morning before I leave to see if Sid and Joe have any idea's. I'm doing the chili feed, while Payner is in it just for the Oceola of it. See you all in the AM.

If you really want to see what you are missing, maybe you should come and see it !! :-)

Consider it done, you can camp in the same area with Karen and I. Unless your tent is the size of PT Barnum & Baileys :goofy: If it is, I'll just leave my tent at home!
Spark,
Karen and I will be leaving from home and heading strait over there for an 11:am arrival, see you there.

Kit,
Cruise on down the 100 and exit at Hwy 81/Broadway and turn right. Go north on Hwy about a mile and that is where the Holiday is at where Sid and I shall be. We'll probably stick around until 7:25AM.

Yea, great idea Bill. Lots of people bring chairs but some don't need them because they just "stand" in their favorite spot!! :Hehe: :floor:

It was a heck of a good time! Those SCVR'ers sure know how to do a good party! The weather was warm, beer was cold, chili was tasty, music was fun (1st time I saw Phat Pearl), people were friendly and the scenery was great.
Doug, thanks for staking out the spot for my tent. ...and for not throwing it in the creek while I was out riding! ;-)

Check the pic posts, there are a few, not sure what else sparky took pictures of but I am sure he posted the best ones.
Saw your neighbor buddy Scott P. there, he seemed to be having a good time checking out all the bikes.

Ok, so does anyone know if they restricted entrance to Saturday at 11:00? I don't know if we'll plan on it next year again but the past couple of times we've gone we've been set up on Friday evening before dark. If this is not allowed I may need to join SCVR just to get in early. Besides, I make some mean chili myself. :devil1: ;)
