Forum Solely For None Motorcycle Related Items Or NOT???

My feelings are that this site has been developed for Victory Riders in the Mpls/St. Paul area to announce motorcycle gatherings and organize day, evening & weekend rides together. To share the camaraderie with fellow Victory owners about our passion.

The Buy, Sell Or Trade states that this is the place to make your deals. You can attach a picture here as well, of the items you want to part with.

It does not say you can't put other items there. I like the way this site has always policed it's self. If something gets out of hand, the members nicely tell the poster how they feel and life goes on. I fear that if we make this a trading post by setting up a forum like that, it could be an open invitation to have folks joining just to sell their goods.

If in the poll, the members here vote in the next 14 days in favor of a separate forum for the sale of solely none motorcycle related items I will set it up.

Maybe all that we need is something saying that it's okay to post non-Vic and non-motorcycle related items for sale. But you are right Sparky, we don't need a bunch of people signing up here just to sell their beanie baby collection. :Jester:

How 'bout if we nip it in the bud right here and forget the whole thing... delete the post and just use what we have in the buy and sell division.

That seems much better in light of the way that the site was set up ( as you stated). And as was said, the mainstays do police the site and remind folks if they're getting out of hand. Just a brain fart that wasn't thought through....should have asked you directly first before posting ( well, we did discuss it the other night and I guess I thought a separate section would be kinda fun...but this is the world wide web and not just restricted to the club members...it certainly could get out of hand..).

So...could we just sort of forget that I brought this up.....?

No problem, I did the poll because many were thinking that this was something they would like so I prefer to just let it run it's coarse. No harm done either way. The board is here to serve the needs.

I voted for what we have is fine, but I could go either way. I guess I really use this site for Motorcycle related stuff, and there are other places that are better served for selling "Stuff" but if you have something that someone else here could use it....then that's a plus.

I guess it would depend on how much work it takes to accomplish this.
