It's been a while since I was at Mies, but they had a Vegas with those pipes and also had a pair hanging on the wall. The salesman was telling me that they would work on my TC. I would have to fabricate some brackets if I were to do that because the bags attach to the pipes and the Santa Rosas don't go back far enough.

The aces don't look too bad, but I personally like a longer pipe.

I like something like these slash cuts.

Hey Sid -

I'm not sure if anyone around here has had the Aces on, but I imagine they sound a lot like the Ness pipes that Dean had on the custom Orange Vegas last year. They are both made of stainless steel and are about the same size.

The Ness were loud under acceleration and definitely have a bark when you down shift, but they didn't seem as loud as other drag pipes I've heard when you are cruising along. They will turn gold in color, though.

I have talked to the Santa Rosa guys about making the Deuces (2 into 1) for OLDYLR, but I'm still not convinced I can live with the coloring of the pipe (that and the $850 he wants for the build...).

There has been plenty of talk on the VMC about both the Aces and the Ness pipes and there really hasn't been any bad-mouthing about either pipe.

Joe,
I don't know exactly what you are referring to, but I am guessing Jere could build them a little cheaper than Santa. I don't know how busy he is, but I definitely think it is worth a try.
Do you have any pics of them?

I have a set but don't have them on yet. I do like the look, and the bark. A friend of mine has them on and they do bark, but he also didn't install the baffel. I will be putting the baffle in to get some back pressure.

It seems like everyone has straight drags so I didn't want them. I think the Ace pipes look more custom then just adding a set of slip ons.

I really don't think they are louder then other drag pipes, except on hard acceleration and when you want them to bark, they will!

To install, the directions say to down load the stage one program with the stock pipes on and there is a (chip) that they use to calibrate the stage one for the ace pipes. It must diviate the data from the stock pipes making the program think it has the Ace pipes installed. ?????

I think if I had a stage one already downloaded, I would just add a PCIII and adjust from there. I will probably add the PCIII so that I can adjust to limit the amount of yellowing of the pipe. I have read on VMC various ways of cleaning the pipes and removing the yellow. Also some guys have had the inside ceramic coated to limit the amount of yellowing and maximize cooling of the pipes.

I did talk with one of the guys at NEss a bit ago....... he said that they are going to soon have some chrome "Slash Ness pipes that come with heat shields. He said a number of people didn't like the stainless pipes because of the golden hue they took on after a bit ................ just figured I'd let ya know if ya wanted to check it out .

Catch ya,

Those would look sharp Sid! I like the golden hue the stainless pipes take on after awhile. Should look real good against a black bike I would think. If I remember correctly, doesn't some part of the frame have to be cut to mount them on a Vegas? Don't know if it would be the same for a C, but might be worth checking out first.

Joe, I REALLY like those Dueces!

Joe,
are the Dueces a fulls et of pipe(s) including the headers?
They look pretty makeable...but then again, I am not an engineer/machinist....
And you want them on your old yeller "C" correct?
I think the hardest part would be the collector for the 2 into one, and after that not too bad...

Have you called Nothstar?

I may contact Jere this week myself...want me to bring it up?

Yeah, they're a full set from header back. Yeah, I would be looking at putting them on OLDYLR. No, I haven't called Jere. I'm not sure if I want to go this route due to the golding of the stainless. I guess I would be more interested if a set could be made with some chrome heat shields on the header pipe.

If you talk to Jere and it comes up, that would be cool, but I don't think I'm in any hurry.

Thanks John -

If I talk to him, I will bring it up. I think it would be easier to build out of steel, then chrome it. Maybe a shield around the top part of the header to hide the discoloring should do it...

I will follow up if I hear anything..
