Did anyone else watch this new show on Speed? What a goof they had for their first Rookie Builder!

They give him all the parts, all the tools to use, and all the advice, and he thought he was already a bike builder.....he changed his tune before he left!

This guy talked the talk, but couldn't even crawl let alone walk the walk!

Of course he was a Bust! He didn't even know how to clean the threads on all the tapped holes on the frame when it came back from painting!

He couldn't weld, he couldn't operate a grinder, and what a CRY BABY! :floor:

He ended up walking out with a couple days to go because they were sick of him and he didn't have a clue!

He is one of those "bolt some chrome" on a stock bike builders! :floor:

Next time.......pick me.....pick me....pick me! What an experience that would be.

:gunrev: i like the throttle and clutch setup excile cycles uses,i too will have to watch.I rebuilt my sportster from the ground up in my kitchen back in 82 and i can't help but drool over these shops these guys have to play in,course the 50 to 100,000 price tag on these choppers these days will buy a lot of tools, anyway might be a good show.

Saw this show tonight. Interesting concept. I almost felt bad for that guy, because he knew by the second day that he was in over his head. But I gained a lot more respect for Russel. Always admired his talent as a builder, but seeing how he handled that situation, and would talk to the guy and try to help him, He seems like he would be a really good guy to work with, or at least have a beer with.

No kidding. I was real impressed with Russells patience.

Early in the show, Russel made the coment of how they have a bunch of pictures on the wall of bikes that customers built using exile parts. It made me wonder if this episode was maybe a later one, that they decided to air first just to get some word of mouth going. After all, it was interesting to watch it fail, as opposed to all of these shows where they somehow magically get it done at the last minute.

But I looked at their website http://www.exilecycles.com/index2.html and they have kits that you can buy, and then build a bike yourself. Maybe that's what Russel was talking about. Interesting show, I'll have to make sure to watch it.
